Once Chase Mamot made it to hunting camp, he learned the nickname of the bear bait used in the barrels: Cherry Crack. Comprised of stale donuts, cookies, Russian pumpernickel, and a syrup concentrate that gave it a strong odor of cherries. This syrup was also sprayed around each barrel to attract bears within a mile or more.
