Our First time at Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway - Jim Thorpe, PA

Our First time visit at Lehigh Gorge Scenic Raiway in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
So just a little history about this place. Jim Thorpe town was originally founded as Mauch Chunk in 1818 and was renamed Jim Thorpe in 1953 in honor of the Olympic Medalist Winner James Francis Thorpe.
Jim Thorpe is a very Mountainous area. We really like looking at the scenic mountain from the road driving on our way to the railway. A friend of mine have suggested to visit this place because of the scenic view while riding the train. I heard that it is nice during the Fall season. I think we just missed it by two weeks, but the scenic nature is still very nice.
My son prefers to see and ride with the steam train, but I don't know when they will have the steam locomotive on.
We were also looking forward to go inside the abandoned tunnel at Lehigh Gorge State Park after watching some clips of it, but it is closed, and we are not sure why. Anyone knows?
