A high pressure air mass sits in Western Alaska and eastern Russia, allowing arctic air to surge into the Western CONUS. Meanwhile, cold and warm air masses continue to flow consistently through the eastern CONUS. This is allowing for new thunderstorm potential, with a tornado outbreak likely in the ArkLaMiss region. Severe weather potential could reach as far north as the Southern Great Lakes Region by Tuesday.
