Polish Defence Minister has asked the German government to deliver the US-made surface-to-air missile defence system to Ukraine instead of Poland. Germany had offered Poland, a NATO member, the Patriot missiles after a rocket struck its territory 6 kilometres from the Ukrainian border last week, killing two people. Berlin has insisted that the missiles can only be deployed within NATO.
