Gluttony in the Bible is a form of idolatry and any form of idolatry is a serious offense to God. Overcoming gluttony is less about losing weight and more about gaining a new perspective in life. Food cannot comfort you; only the Holy Spirit does that! He is the great Comforter, your best Friend.  So ask Him to help your mind, will, and emotions make the right decisions concerning food consumption.
