This weeks study: Explaining Salvation - Part 4: Standing Verses State - Christ in us, the hope of glory

This study dives into explaining how we live our lives once we are saved.

We are saved by Jesus's faith, not our faith in jesus. Jesus did all the work to make a way for salvation. Jesus's way is the only way.

Because our salvation is by Jesus's faith (not our faith in Jesus) there is no way for us to lose our salvation. Jesus has risen from death. He will never die again, therefore our salvation can not be undone. It is in Christ.

Through Jesus's faith all who believe are reconciled to Jesus the moment they believe. Those believers are now in The Body of Christ, and will be his agents he uses to reconcile all things in heaven. The jews are Jesus's agent to reconcile all things in earth unto him.

So far we discussed the salvation event(s) of: the circumcision without hand, where we receive a spiritual circumcision that removes our spirit from our body and seats us in heavenly places. This event is closely tied to our Justification. We are justified by God the moment we believe in our salvation. The "old man" is condemned to death, and we are made a "new man" as a new creature which is what the Bible calls the Body of Christ. We are in Christ, but we still live in this world. God's word shows us a division between these 2 competing truths that I refer to as our "standing" and our "state". In order to correctly understand our instruction given in Pauls epistles, we must rightly divide our standing verses our state. Our standing is our justification that is only found in the work Christ did on the cross. We stand in Christ. Our state is the work we do in this life, good or bad, and we will be judged for it.

Standing: Our unchangeable position based on who we are in Christ
State: Our changeable condition based on our walk with Christ
