Zelensky addresses troops in Kherson, thanks NATO, HIMARS, EU, Global Allies for support
1. *Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Kherson and addressed troops there on Monday, days after Russian forces were forced to retreat from the southern city after months.*
"We are moving forward," he told troops standing in formation *in front of the administration building* in the city's main square. "We are ready for peace, peace for all our country."
Zelensky thanked NATO and other allies for their support in the war against Russia and said the delivery of high mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS) from the United States had made a big difference for Kyiv.

2. *EUs Borrell Says Many States Willing To Take Part In Training Mission For Ukrainian Army*
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said on Monday that the training mission for preparing Ukrainian soldiers will be launched in a couple of weeks with many European countries expressing readiness to participate in it.
"Today (Monday), an important decision is the launching of the training mission for the Ukrainian army. As you know, we have been discussing and we have decided in a record time that the mission will be launched and it will be operational in a couple of weeks. It will be in Poland and there is a lot of countries willing to participate in the training mission, which will be training about 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers," Borrell said on the doorstep of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels.
Borrell added that the recent news from Ukraine testifies to the correct strategy of the EU aimed at providing military assistance to Kiev.
"The strategy of supporting military Ukraine was the good one. We have to continue," Borrell said.
According to the official, the foreign ministers of the EU countries are going to discuss the amount of military assistance, which will be more than indicated in media reports.

3. *New Zealand said on Monday it would extend its mission to the United Kingdom to train Ukrainian troops through July 2023 but would cut its personnel by almost a half.*
The island nation's prime minister and chiefs of foreign affairs and defense said they had agreed to continue providing "support to the United Kingdom armed forces-led operation to train Ukrainian personnel, with the deployment of one infantry training team numbering up to 66 NZDF personnel from 30 November 2022 to 31 July 2023."
The New Zealand defense forces currently have two infantry training teams comprising 120 personnel training Ukrainians in the UK.
New Zealand's intelligence staff will stay in the UK until the end of June. The presence of command support, logistics and liaison personnel has also been extended well into the summer. Additionally, the country pledged $1 million in funding for non-lethal military equipment and supplies for Ukraine.
Russia has repeatedly stressed that military aid to Ukraine has made NATO allies and partners part of its conflict with Ukraine. New Zealand is not a NATO member state but is one of a range of countries beyond the Euro-Atlantic area, often referred to as "partners across the globe."
