A team of Italian investigative journalists expose pieces of neo-Nazi regalia they've uncovered from former Ukrainian military positions in the Donbass.

(Not in video news - in Donetsk continued shelling by Kiev has killed three civilians and injured one more)

Investigators have found a helicopter in a container intended to be smuggled out and sold on the dark web. Smuggled weapons supplied by NATO and the allies have found their way all over EU countries. NATO troops are now on the ground in Ukraine with the alleged purpose of stopping this smuggling (QueenStreet comment &^%%£**!)

As weapons and arms have become depleted across NATO and the allies, other countries are exporting theirs to them. $10 billions worth is expected to arrive from South Korea alone.

Saudi Arabia has been put under false alarms, according to Iran, that Iran had intentions of an attacking Saudi. The leak came from USA's Wall Street Journal. Last week Pretoria (South Africa) was put on high alert, once again falsely, by US "intelligence" and caused panic (US did not involve the South African intelligence bodies then either).

The insurgents from Rwanda in D.R. Congo are warned by President Ruto (Kenya) that they will work with DR Congo forces to see off the insurgents who have caused no end of trouble and displacement of scores of thousands of citizens who are now forced to live in plastic-covered tents and receive food parcels. (see previous posts)

The Ethiopian government and the breakaway Tigray region finally reach a truce to end a bloody two-year conflict that has resulted in a humanitarian disaster. Kenya sends troops to the Democratic Republic of Congo to support the government's fight against an infamous insurgent group. The UN says the global community has ignored the deteriorating situation there because it's focused on the Ukraine conflict. It looks as if a peace deal has finally been negotiated between Eithiopia and Tigray by South Africa. External interference must however stop for this to be effective.

As the UN warmly welcomes Russia rejoining the grain export deal, Ukraine slams the move as a 'failure of Russian aggression'. Ukraine has now given Russia and UN written guarantees to no longer use the "sea grain humanitarian corridor" for military purposes.

The EU doesn't seem to mind that a minister in the new Italian government has been seen wearing Nazi symbols.

USA is complaining China has not engaged in nuclear arms talks. China says it is not threatening the world or basing it's weapons outside of China.

UN Security Council votes against probe into US biolabs

The US, France, and Britain voted down Russia’s call to investigate “military-biological” activities in Ukraine

The UN Security Council has rejected Russia’s call for an international investigation into claims that the US used laboratories in Ukraine to develop biological weapons.

While China backed Russia’s proposal, the US, Britain, and France voted against it, and the ten rotating council members abstained.

Russia insists that the US and Ukraine have been violating the 1972 international convention that bans the development, production, and stockpiling of biological weapons. According to Moscow, several laboratories in Ukraine were working on a secret “military-biological” program, which involved studies and the stockpiling of samples of anthrax, cholera, and other infectious diseases.

Washington and Kiev both deny developing biological weapons. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in March that the laboratories were conducting “ordinary scientific research.”

During the vote in the Security Council on Wednesday, US envoy, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, argued that the Russian proposal for a probe is “based on disinformation, dishonesty, bad faith, and a total lack of respect for this body.”

Thomas-Greenfield reiterated that the activities under the Pentagon’s Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) program in Ukraine and other former Soviet states “are not for military purposes.”

The US Mission to International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland said in April that the CTR’s goal in Ukraine was to help the country “consolidate and secure pathogens and to continue to ensure Ukraine can detect and report disease outbreaks before they pose security or stability threats.”

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s deputy envoy to the UN, meanwhile, said he was “deeply disappointed” by the vote. He said “the Western countries are simply afraid” of an international investigation into the issue.

Russia issues calls to other nuclear powers

The rest of the big five need to match Moscow’s commitment to avoiding nuclear war, the Foreign Ministry insists

Moscow is “strictly and consistently” guided by the principle that a nuclear war can never be won and should never be fought, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday, calling on other atomic powers to “demonstrate in practice” their own commitment to this.

“We firmly believe that in the current difficult and turbulent situation, a result of irresponsible and shameless actions aimed at undermining our national security, the first priority is to prevent any military clash of nuclear powers,” the ministry said.

Russia stands by its signature on the January 3 joint statement with leaders of the ‘Nuclear Five’ – which includes the US, UK, France and China – on the prevention of nuclear war and the unacceptability of a nuclear arms race.

The ministry also called on the other members of the ‘Nuclear Five’ to demonstrate in practice they also share this commitment, and to “abandon dangerous attempts to infringe on each other's vital interests, balancing on the brink of direct armed conflict and encouraging provocations with WMD, which can lead to catastrophic consequences.”

Russia has repeatedly warned the US and its allies that their overt aid to the government in Ukraine makes them parties to the conflict in Ukraine. Moscow has also publicly accused Kiev of “nuclear blackmail,” including an alleged plan to detonate a “dirty bomb” against its own citizens.

Addressing Western accusations that Russia has made threats to use atomic weapons in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry said that the circumstances in which Moscow may resort to such weapons are “extremely clearly outlined, purely defensive in nature, and do not allow for broad interpretation.”

“Use of nuclear weapons by Russia is hypothetically allowed only in response to aggression carried out with the use of WMDs, or aggression with the use of conventional weapons, when the very existence of the state is threatened,” the ministry said.

On Wednesday, the New York Times published an article citing “multiple senior American officials,” who claimed some Russian generals had been discussing “when and how Moscow might use a tactical nuclear weapon in Ukraine.” In response to this report, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the US considers the possibility “deeply concerning” and takes it “seriously,” but has not seen any indications Russia is actually preparing to use atomic weapons.

Poland building fence along border with Russia

Warsaw has accused Moscow of planning to facilitate illegal crossings from Kaliningrad

Poland has ordered the construction of a 210km barrier along the entire Russian-Polish border. Announcing the details, Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Blaszczak accused Moscow of planning to arrange for Asian and African migrants to illegally cross into the EU state through the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad.

The move follows reports that Kaliningrad began accepting flights from North Africa and the Middle East, Blaszczak told reporters on Wednesday, as officials in Warsaw expressed concern over a repeat of the 2021 migrant crisis on the border with Belarus.

The minister said the barrier between Poland and the Russian exclave will consist of three lines of razor wire.

Construction of the barrier will begin this Wednesday, with preparatory work carried out by Polish soldiers specialized in demining, the defence minister said.

Last year, the border between Poland and Belarus became the site of a major crisis as thousands of migrants attempted to illegally cross into the EU state. Warsaw has since constructed a steel wall along the border with Belarus and has accused Minsk of acting on Russia’s behalf to wage a “hybrid war” and sow chaos and division within the EU.

Both Moscow and Minsk have denied these accusations. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko explained that his government simply did not have enough money in the budget to stop illegal immigration due to the EU’s sanctions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the West of using the migrant crisis to put pressure on Minsk.

Earlier, when the idea of a fortified border between Russia and Poland was first suggested by the general secretary of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party, Krzysztof Sobolewski, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow “cannot and is not going to interfere with such decisions.”

“History every time proves the silliness of decisions to build walls, because over the years or decades, all walls fall,” he added.

In late September, Russia's Air Transport Agency introduced an ‘open skies’ policy at the airport in Kaliningrad, which was meant to increase the accessibility of the region and solve issues prompted by the closure of EU airspace for all Russian airlines. Under the regime, foreign airlines are allowed to travel not only between their home nations and Russia, but can also conduct flights from Kaliningrad to other countries.
