David is mentioned more times in the New Testament than any other Old Testament character. He is said to be the most eminent type of Christ. But the characteristic which most depicted Christ in him is that he was a man after God's own heart. As Jesus lived completely devoted to the Father's will, so David only wanted what God wanted. The Holy Spirit is producing this same quality in us.
