The beloved character Michael Scott from NBC's 'The Office' once described the popular phrase, “SWAG” as, “stuff we all get.”

However, that's not the only use for the acronym.

While some lawmakers don't seem to have any qualms about spending your tax dollars on things like mascot costume, koozies, and coloring books, Iowa Senator Joni Ernst does.

Her “SWAG Act” — Stop Wasteful Advertising by the Government Act — is just one means by which she's looking to clamp down on frivolous spending in Washington.
