LMS (LittleMachineShop.com) Belt drive critique and installation

My LMS metal gear upgrade failed to I took the step up to a belt drive.

This kit is of barely acceptable quality, however, it is the best of the current offerings. I was appalled that for $250 using maybe $30 worth of materials that they didn't bother with deburring the parts and the finish of the pulleys it awful. But I can't use my mill as is so I installed it.

I will say it functions well until you need torque. The motor pully is tiny and does not offer the belt much wrap so it slips. I retightened the belt repeatedly for the drilling of a 1.5-inch hole. This is why I preferred gears.

It is what it is and when I get the time I'll make my own from the Hoss Machine plans.
