#Cuba 🇨🇺 Neighbors in Havana confront the police

#Habana #RepartoElectrico | On the night of June 27, neighbors in the area were playing card games as they usually do, when the #PNR Castro #Police showed up and began their routine #repression. According to witnesses, a chivatón ( someone that works for the State Security) called the police and told them these people were betting money. Upset neighbors being to confront and stand up to help the 2 men and their wives from being beaten and taken away. “Let him go, he didn’t do anything wrong! That’s a woman you are beating up. We are filming everything.” - were some of the phrases neighbors were yelling.
Neighbors told the news outlet @adncuba that they made references to the young black man shot and killed by the PNR days before in Guanabacoa. The police had to go away without taking anyone, leaving one of their uniform hat behind, which the neighbors burnt down.
Yesterday a protest against police abuse in varios sites of the island was repressed by the military special units, who were spread out as if there was going to be an invasion. The 2 PNR officers involved in the killing of Hansel Hernández are free, and even being called heroes in national television, under the false statement that Hansel was throwing rocks at them and they had to defend themselves. Keep in mind he was shot on his back.
Vecinos del Reparto Eléctrico se enfrentan a la PNR luego de que la policía comenzó a usar la violencia en contra de dos ciudadanos bajo la falsa acusación de un chivatón de barrio. La policía incluso abusa de mujeres. Gracias a que los vecinos se metieron, no lograron llevarse a los muchachos. Estos abusos y represión por parte de la policía castrista ha escalado desde que se declaró la cuarentena. La gente está cansada de tanto abuso.
