In this video, I will show you how to paint a bright colored painting using watercolor paint in just 15 minutes! This is an imagined country landscape that I painted mainly wet into wet. I will go over the techniques I used to show You how to speed up your painting and get watercolours to 'paint itself'! Paint these two paintings in 20 minutes! This is a simple tutorial where I introduce the concept of 'mood' in painting. For this tutorial, I paint two beach landscapes - one with dark, stormy clouds, one with a clear blue sky. The majority of it was painted wet-in-wet (sky and clouds). Carried this wash down into the mid and foreground - making sure to mix a 'sand' colour. You can use yellow ochre, hansa yellow mixed with titanium/buff white, buff white by itself. Those combinations seems to look best for me, I like putting some yellow in there to create a contrast between the cooler colours in the sky. Second wash is just adding in details to the waves in cobalt blue, and shrubs/figures. Get ready for #inktober in this Full-Length (with voice-over) Line and Wash painting tutorial! I will show you how to paint four different simple beach landscapes in watercolor. Each painting takes approximately 10 minutes to complete - and increases in difficulty through each painting. This is intended to be a casual and fun exercise, so just enjoy yourself and keep things simple! It's very important for artists to practice their techniques and skills - often we 'save it all up' for a big painting and realize that we haven't practiced simple techniques such as dry brush or flat washes enough beforehand. So no pressure, let's just give this a go, and you can experiment with your own techniques throughout this tutorial - no need to follow me exactly! Sketching - My Simple two step method with two brushes: 1) Using a 3/4 flat brush or smaller, add a thin wash of your lighter values to the sky, sea and land. Don’t worry if they mix a little. While this wash is still wet, introduce some slightly darker pigment wet-in-wet to indicate clouds, waves, variations in sand texture. 2) Once the previous wash has dried, add all the darker values with your flat brush and a size 4-8 round brush. The corner of your flat brush can be used to add small details too.
