Fiction as Foundation (Memetic Interpretations of the Soul) - Are "Souls" Self Unifying Narratives?

Is there utility in a memetic interpretation of a soul as a set of narratives and archetypes you align with, instead of either a thing you can't define but its immortal or immaterial (religious idea), or a thing that is stupid and a dumb fiction with no value (atheistic idea)?

Just my ideas. Happy for any criticism or whatever.
