Legacy Conversations - SF - Gen Bornman - Episode 9 – 7 SAI

Brigadier General Cornelius Jansen Bornman speaks to us about his distinguished career in the South African Army. He started in 1965 in the Army Gymnasium. Sixteen years were in command positions - the last as Commanding General – Special Forces Brigade (1995-1999). He also completed various staff courses which are rated higher than an MBA by me.

In this episode, he talks of his time at 7 SAI where he was second in command. The Unit was first at Bourke’s Luck, Eastern Transvaal and then moved to Phalaborwa right next to the Kruger National Park. We also speak about “army go-karts,” the Southern Cross Fund, why the navy salutes differently, how to work with national servicemen, and so much more. Indeed, a fascinating conversation with a senior officer. If you have questions for the General, leave them below. Please subscribe and activate the bell to be informed of new episodes.
