Another traffic stop saw 30-year-old Cody Iglesias flee on foot in the W section of Palm Coast. An extensive manhunt took place with the FCSO’s Community Policing Division, K9 Unit, PACE, AirOne and Daytona Beach Police Department K-9 Units joining in the effort to locate Iglesias who was found hiding under a covered porch of a W section residence. He was immediately secured and arrested for Violation of Probation, Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure, Loitering and Prowling, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Suboxone, Possession of Alprazolam and Resisting Officer without Violence and is being held on no bond at the Green Roof Inn. He was also wanted in Flagler County for two felony warrants for Violation of Probation.

While deputies were busy with a drug trafficker and a manhunt for a wanted Flagler fugitive, deputies were also tending to a physical disturbance in Palm Coast. A female victim was left severely beaten by 61-year-old George Laura. The victim was transported to Advent Health Palm Coast with broken ribs and a tooth knocked out. Laura is a convicted felon who was found in possession of a loaded firearm and with boxes of ammunition in his vehicle. The suspect was arrested for Aggravated Battery, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Carrying a Concealed Firearm. He’s being held at the Green Roof Inn on no bond. Bunnell Police Department initially assisted FCSO when all other deputies were already busy on multiple high-priority calls.

“This is a prime example of how busy we are in Flagler County,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This was an unusually busy Spring Break. We had multiple high-priority calls at the same time but we are always prepared to handled them and ensure we keep our community safe! I thank Bunnell Police for assisting us on a very violent domestic violence case and commend all the deputies who handled 902 calls this weekend, handling multiple felons who resisted arrest and ensuring our roadways were safe. This is not an easy task and I’m proud of our team for getting poison peddlers and abusive dirt bags back behind bars where they belong.”
