My best friend

MY BEST FRIEND

For 14 years I had a friend
We never were apart
Black hair,brown eyes, a handsome lad
He was kind loving and smart

A thousand sunsets did we see
The same for thunderstorms
From in the cab we watched the seasons
Change from cold to warm

Never once an argument
Never and unkind word
I think about him often
When memories are stirred

I do not know where good dogs go
When they’re done here and they die
But I hope that when my numbers up
Where he went there go I
