Pentagon press secretary John Kirby is joining the White House, according to a person familiar with the matter, adding star power to the President Joe Biden’s National Security Council.

He’ll occasionally do the White House briefing, splitting time with new press secretary KARINE JEAN-PIERRE. We’ve also heard he’ll act like a surrogate on television, a medium he’s very comfortable with from his double stint as Pentagon spokesperson and time as a CNN on-air pundit.
