Salvation Mountain in Slab City, California

We took a trip to Slab City. It's kind of like a huge boondock area, but on a permanent basis. We really enjoyed the stop at Salvation Mountain. In 1984 Leonard Knight started the Mountain. His message is GOD IS LOVE. In November 2011, when he was 82 years old, Leonard moved away from the mountain. He passed away February 10, 2014. The artwork on the mountain is so colorful and beautiful. I would love to go do some repairs that the mountain desperately needs. We took a drive through Slab City and looked at all of the "buildings" that people live in. Some of the places are pretty rough but creative.
