Granny Kempock Stone #shorts

A 6ft menhir (standing stone) within the town of Gourock in Scotland. The name is derived from its resemblance to the silhouette of an elderly woman. The stone was supposed to bring good fortune to sailers heading to sea and it was said that newlyweds used to circle the stone 7 times to bring them good luck. The stone also has links to Witchcraft. Mary Lamond is said to have tried to push the stone into the sea before being tried, convinced and executed for being a witch.

The stone dates back to the bronze age...
