The Lethbridge Public Library is set to celebrate Library Giving Day on April 6. The event is an international fundraiser that was started in 2019 in Seattle to raise money for local libraries. Elisabeth Hegerat, the Manager of Community and Economic Advancement for the Lethbridge Public Library, says this campaign is vital to ensure the library is able to keep providing top quality books and services moving forward.

In 2021:
• 17,918 people held a card at Lethbridge Public Library, and had access to more than 800,000 physical
items through the regional catalogue, including fiction, non-fiction, large print, children’s and teen materials, foreign language, reference materials, magazines and newspapers, music, video, software and games, and audiobooks.
• 918,705 items were borrowed, including 133,915 digital items.
• 28,722 Curbside Pick Up visits filled 175,188 holds and 1,230 Surprise Me grab bags.
• There were approximately 161,080 visits to the Library (Main and Crossings Branches and Bookmobile), as well as 263,126 visits to the Library’s website.
• 1,717 online programs were hosted with 11,428 live stream viewers, and 10,407 recorded views.
