But not all of them are like that. You can't be going out into the wild and engage one of these guys, as the wild ones are pretty dangerous. Be careful or you might lose a finger. Tank is a 40 pound snapping turtle who loves to climb up on his owner's lap. He seems to believe he's some kind of lap dog! Despite having a massive head and powerful jaws, he is a gentle giant that only wants to cuddle. Steve, his owner and buddy, raised him from a silver dollar size hatchling. Tank is only 7 years old. These turtles are believed to be capable of living to well over 100 years. Tank spends his out time being as close to Steve as possible. He's a valued member of the family.
