Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials: Question 3: (x - a) Approximation Form
In this video I go over Question 3 of the Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials, and this time revisit the quadratic approximation but instead use a slightly different notation. In Question 1 I illustrated how the quadratic or parabola or 2nd order polynomial approximation P(x) = A + Bx + Cx^2 can be used to approximate a function f(x) at x = a, with the conditions that P(a) = f’(a), P’(a) = f’(a), and P’’(a) = f’’(a). But in this video I show that it is often preferable to use a slightly different notation and instead use P(x) = A + B(x – a) + C(x – a)^2. The only difference in using this form is that the constants A, B, C will not necessarily be the same. This notation has the benefit in that determine the constants with the 3 conditions listed above is fairly easy because when we input x = a into P(x) or its derivative, most terms vanish because a – a = 0.
When we solve for the constants, I show that we obtain the function P(x) = f(a) + f’(a)(x – a) + f’’(a)(x – a)^2, which is a very convenient form to determine the constants, just from f(x) and its derivatives at x = a. Furthermore, this is the basis for Taylor Polynomials which I will be illustrating in further parts of this Laboratory Project, so make sure to watch this video and fully understand this concept!
---
UPDATE: Error at the end which I wrote f"(a)(x-a) instead the correct term of f'(a)(x-a).

Ralph Ring Discusses Building Flying Saucers with Otis T. Carr in the 1950s and 60s
In this video I have uploaded a rare interview of Ralph Ring discussing his work as a technician for Otis T. Carr while allegedly building and operating flying saucers in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This was the second interview in Dominique Radwanski's pilot episode titled Somewhere Out There, which never got aired. Dominique Radwanski and Rob Simone drove to Las Vegas to meet up with Ralph Ring to discuss his extraordinary story. Ralph claims to have met Nikola Tesla's protégé Otis T. Carr whom needed a technician to help him build anti-gravity flying discs. Ralph states that the craft requires being spiritually awake to a "higher consciousness" to be able to operate the craft. He also states that their lab was confiscated by the United States government and was threatened not to contact Carr. Ralph also says that research has continued but is waiting for people to increase in consciousness before they can showcase the flying saucers. This interview was in 2007 and Ralph Ring passed away in 2022.
While this all sounds far-fetched, the truth is definitely stranger than fiction, so I have included further links to Ralph Ring, Carr's OTC-X1 flying saucer, and mainstream skeptics websites.

🔬#MESExperiments 37: Interesting Experiments with Magnets and Unmagnetized Steel
In #MESExperiments 37 I demonstrate some very interesting observations of permanent magnets and unmagnetized steel when placed on a large magnet. Small magnets tend to move to the center of the magnet but when lifted they suddenly move to the edge. Small unmagnetized steel balls and screws tend to move to the edge of the magnet both when placed and lifted. However, a larger magnetic ball and large unmagnetized steel bolt both tend to move to the center both when placed and lifted. I also show a cylinder magnet wants to stand vertically in the center but moves to edge when lifted. When placed flat and pushed towards the center, it can launch away!
Finally I show that a tiny magnet behaves completely opposite of a tiny unmagnetized steel screw, both in position and angle direction. The tiny screw balances near the center at and an angle pointing away from center and gradually flattens out when moved to the edge. The tiny magnet balances near the edge at an angle towards the center and gradually flattens out when moved to the center. These are all some very interesting and puzzling experiments which I hope will help us unravel the mystery that is electromagnetism!

MH370 Teleportation Video Fakery: Contrails are Out of Sync with Plane
In this video I show that the alleged Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) teleportation video has contrails that are out of sync with the plane even when manually stabilized without any special software. This is further proof that the videos are fake since we can rule out any stabilization software artifact. This obvious fakery raises questions as to why the infamous Ashton Forbes keeps pushing the MH370 teleportation videos, and why some people still believe him...

Rare Footage of the Hutchison Effect inside John's Vancouver Apartment (2007)
In this video I have uploaded a rare 2007 look inside John Hutchison's Vancouver, Canada apartment which also shows him operating his military equipment for a live demonstration of the Hutchison Effect. This was the first interview in Dominique Radwanski's pilot episode titled Somewhere Out There, which never got aired. Dominque Radwanski and Rob Simone drove from Los Angeles, USA to Vancouver, Canada to visit John's unique apartment full of old Navy and military electromagnetic equipment. This is the first footage that I have seen that shows John in full operation mode as he tinkers with knobs and turns a coil phase shifting wheel. After a few minutes a plastic canister in the test area begins to levitate and rotate freely. John also discusses how the Canadian government had previously confiscated his lab in 1990 (or 1991) while he was traveling in Europe. The governments of the world know full well of this technology, which can provide free energy and anti-gravity for all, but instead are covering it up for their own selfish purposes.

Somewhere Out There (2007) Pilot Episode: John Hutchison, Ralph Ring, Jeff Behary
In this video I have uploaded a 2007 pilot episode titled Somewhere Out There by Dominique Radwanski in which she and Rob Simone interview zero point energy researcher John Hutchison, flying saucer technician Ralph Ring, and electrotherapy museum founder Jeff Behary. According to Dominique Radwanski, the pilot episode was originally going to be aired on the Discovery Channel but they wanted to edit out much of it and remove the message about rising consciousness. The show starts off by visiting John Hutchison in his then Vancouver apartment lab where he recreates his famous Hutchison Effect. The second interview is with Ralph Ring, whom is a technician for Otis Carr (protégé of Nikola Tesla) while they were allegedly building flying saucers. The last interview is with Jeff Behary, the founder of the famous electrotherapy museum in Riviera Beach, Florida. This pilot episode is rare footage that I had not seen until John Hutchison himself sent me the video.
After uploading this video, I found out that Dominique Radwanski had died at the age of 36 in 2016. Her body had been found in the waters of Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada after she left her home the night before. Her family says she had suffered from a medical condition, and the cause of death is still unknown. Here is a song of her paintings dedicated to her life: https://youtu.be/l2MfqW3liW4

The Magnetic Field Resembles the Electric Field of 2 Bound Charges
In this video I show that the magnetic field resembles the electric field of 2 "bound" or very closely together charges. The magnetic field is the shape that iron filings make in the presence of a magnet (both electromagnetic with current in a coil or loop of wire, and a permanent magnet). The electric field is the shape of the field indicating the force between 2 electric charges: like charges repel and opposites attract. Using the University of Colorado Boulder electric field simulator, I also show that the electric field of a collection of bound and aligned charges resembles very closely the magnetic field of a permenant magnet. This begs the question as to whether the magnetic and electric fields are just the same field under different conditions: the electric field is for separated charges while the magnetic field is for bound charges?

🔬#MESExperiments 36: Faraday's Paradox using Ferrofluid (and Iron Filings)
In #MESExperiments 36 I further demonstrate Faraday's Paradox, this time using Ferrofluid and showing that a magnet rotating about its polar axis has no effect on the fluid. I also perform additional experiments using iron filings using more complex patterns to show that they are still not affected by the rotating magnet. This is a follow-up to Experiment 35 which I performed similar experiments but with the magnet at a distance away from the iron filings. According to Michael Faraday's theory on magnetism, the magnetic field "lines of force" should be moving and cutting through the iron filings and they thus should experience an electromotive force (EMF), which paradoxically don't. This suggests the magnetic field does not rotate. Further information on Faraday's Paradox as well as FractalWoman's magnetic isopotentials explanation for it can be seen in the video description of Experiment 35: https://youtu.be/hotOO9bwrrA
The original unedited version of this experiment can be seen here: https://youtu.be/mJjDasSSqHo

A Hyperbolic Paraboloid Can Be Generated by Straight lines
In this video I show that a hyperbolic paraboloid can be generated entirely by two sets of lines, thus classifying it as a Ruled Surface. The only quadric surfaces that are ruled surfaces are cylinders, cones, and hyperboloids of one sheet. All of these can be generated by the motion of straight lines. A hyperbolic paraboloid has horizontal traces that are hyperbolas and vertical traces that are parabolas. I show that two sets of lines in parametric equations can be plugged directly into the equation of the hyperboloid paraboloid and obtain a point on it. I also play around with the lines using GeoGebra's 3D graphing calculator to show that the lines are always on the hyperbolic paraboloid, which is pretty amazing when you think about it!

Modeling Earth as an Ellipsoid
In this video I model the Earth as an ellipsoid as used by the World Geodetic System of 1984 (WGS-84) since it is a more accurate model than a sphere. The Earth is not perfectly spherical but instead is more squished vertically by about 21.6 km: the distance from the center to the Poles is 6356.523 km while the distance to the equator is larger at 6378.137 km. The parallels or circular lines of equal latitude are the horizontal circular traces of the ellipsoid. The meridians or elliptical lines of equal longitude are the vertical elliptical traces of the ellipsoid. I plot this all out using GeoGebra's 3D and 2D graphing calculators (the 2D traces turn into cylinders in 3D so I had to also use the 2D graphing calculator).

Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials: Question 4: Approximating Square Roots
In this video I go over Question 4 of the Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials and this time go over an example on approximating a square root function using the quadratic approximation notation from Question 3. The function I approximate is (x + 3)^(1/2) which is also the same function I approximated using linear approximation several years ago. Using the notation from Question 1, using (x – a) and at values near a = 1, I show that the quadratic approximation is better than the linear approximation, again as expected. I graph the function as well as the linear and quadratic approximations, as well as develop a spreadsheet to show that near or far from x = a = 1, the quadratic approximation is more accurate than the linear. This is a very good example to get a firm grip on the quadratic approximation method, which as I will show in later parts of this project, is the basis of higher order approximations known as Taylor Polynomials; so make sure to watch this video!

🔬#MESExperiments 35: Faraday's Paradox using Iron Filings
In #MESExperiments 35 I demonstrate Faraday's Paradox by showing that iron filings behave the same whether a magnet is rotating about its polar axis or not rotating at all. This suggests that the magnetic field does not rotate along this axis. Traditionally, Faraday's Paradox is demonstrated by a permenant magnet and a copper disc connected to a voltage (electric pressure) reading. It is based on Faraday's Law of Induction describing how a magnetic field will interact with an electric circuit to produce an electromotive force (EMF). The paradox is described below:
1. Rotating the copper disk generates a voltage reading.
2. Rotating the magnet does not generate a voltage reading (contrary to Faraday's Law).
3. Rotating both the copper disk and magnet generates a voltage reading (contrary to Faraday's Law).
This is paradoxical under the theory that the magnet emits magnetic field lines and that EMF is generated whenever the copper disk cuts through these lines. Thus any relative motion between the copper disk and magnet should obtain a voltage reading. My experiment suggests that the magnet is not emitting an magnet field but rather that there exists another substance (the Aether) that the magnet is interacting with.
Also in this video, I show that rotating the magnet perpendicular to its polar axis can rotate or horizontally translate the iron filings. Pretty epic stuff!

Table of Computer Drawn Quadric Surfaces
In this video I go over a table of 6 basic quadric surfaces with computer-drawn graphs: ellipsoid, elliptic paraboloid, hyperbolic paraboloid, cone, hyperboloid of one sheet, and a hyperboloid of two sheets. I also discuss their formulas and what happens when the variables change. All the shown graphs are symmetric about the z-axis but the equations can be modified to make it symmetric about a different axis. I have plotted all these surfaces on the GeoGebra 3D graphing calculator: https://www.geogebra.org/3d/tabys4ec
Computers typically draw these surfaces by using 2D traces along vertical planes spaced at even intervals. Parts of the graph (those in the background) are then removed using hidden line removal techniques: https://youtu.be/JS1bbyvdhsA

Graphing a Hyperboloid of One Sheet in 3D
In this video I graph a Hyperboloid of One Sheet, which has horizontal traces being ellipses and vertical traces being hyperbolas. This quadric surface is made up of one sheet, which means there is no separation into two parts as are usually typical when dealing with hyperbolas. I will go over the Hyperboloid of Two Sheets in a later video.

Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials: Question 5: Proof
In this video I go over Question 5 of the Laboratory Project: Taylor Polynomials and this time derive the general formula for an n-th degree Taylor Polynomial approximating the function f(x) and centered about x = a. In the previous parts of this series, I went over linear and quadratic approximations, but these are in fact still technically Taylor Polynomials but with degrees 1 and 2, respectively. The Taylor Polynomial formula can thus be viewed as a more generalized polynomial approximation to a function centered about a point. In this video I show that when we take the starting point of the quadratic approximation formula and then extend it to include n constants, we can then start to see a pattern when we enforce the conditions that the approximation and its derivatives at the value of x = a is set to be equal to the function we are approximating, and its derivatives, again at x = a. This pattern is such that the general k-th constant is equal to the k-th derivative of f(x) at x = a divided by k factorial (k!). Thus if we want to obtain a higher order polynomial approximation we can simply add more terms and determine the resulting constants from the derivatives of the function we are approximating. This is a very good video in understanding how we can derive formulas through pattern recognition as well as in understanding one of the most useful methods of approximating complicated functions, the Taylor Polynomial; so make sure to watch this video!

Graphing a Hyperbolic Paraboloid in 3D
In this video I graph a hyperbolic paraboloid, which is a surface that has vertical traces being parabolas, and horizontal traces being hyperbolas. After first obtaining the traces in 2D, I draw them out in 3D, and then combine them all together to form what looks like a horse's saddle. I also graph the hyperbolic paraboloid using the GeoGebra 3D graphing calculator: https://www.geogebra.org/3d/tabys4ec
Time stamps:
- Example 5: Hyperbolic Paraboloid: 0:00
- Solution: Obtaining the traces: 0:10
- Drawing the family of traces: 1:41
- Vertical parabolas in x = k planes: 1:57
- Vertical parabolas in y = k planes: 5:50
- Horizontal hyperbolas in z = k planes: 9:08
