Is this what you call art? An Inside out event
Inside out, they put on extraordinary events in extraordinary places in Dorset, which is in the south of England. Well, some are, some not so much.
These events were filmed a number of years ago, the first along Poole Quay and the second in a part of Bournemouth called Boscombe.
Mary Shelly who wrote Frankenstein is buried in Bournemouth.

Extinction Rebellion Protest - Anyone interested in saving the planet?
Last summer several hundred people, I mean, several people turned up one wet Sunday lunchtime for the biggest Extinction Rebellion Protest that Dorset had ever seen.
Or so the press statement said.

World of love festival in Bournemouth
Filmed in 2023, various acts from around world entertained the people of Bournemouth. Not the busiest event I went to but it was colourful with lots of acts from Bulgaria to Indian, a couple of local lads sneaked on to the bill.
Due to copyright issues, I'm unable to use the music recorded on the day. So with the help of a Roland TB-3 [303] and some mangled guitar sounds via Red Panda Raster 2 and an All Pedals Microdose phaser, an original sound track was created.

Slippery Root plants and some slow motion bees
Bees in slow motion around some Slippery Root plants in my garden. Other English names include boneset, knitbone, consound, and slippery- elm
My band sure mellowed out on this one, and I had a field day with odd ball guitar sounds thanks to All-pedals Microdose phaser and a clone of a EQD Data Corrupter

Toys for Kids in Poole
A group of Cosplay characters took part in the wave 105 Toys for Kids appeal. People were encouraged to donate a toy and the people of Poole dropped them off all day long.
Around 50 of the top cosplay characters in the country and the top 5 in the world turned up for the event in a seaside town in the South of England.
They raised over 300 toys and £150 in cash, they are planning bigger events with even more characters.
So hopefully a lot children in the area will have something new to play with on Christmas Day

The Washer Women - Clean Sheets
Part of the Devizes Street Festival, filmed several years ago but only recently edited.
A group of women were washing sheets in the streets, certainly no stereo typing with this
group of street performers.

Cirque Rouages - A high wire outdoor circus act
One cold Friday I set off to Poole Quay to watch Cirque Rouages perform as part of the Inside Out fextival.
When I got home my dear old mum asked where I'd been and I showed her what I'd filmed. She was not impressed that I hadn't taken her,
but I'd not no idea what the show was going to be like.
So on the Saturday, we headed back to the Quay. I found a good stop for her in the disabled section,I set my tripod up to one side and was quickly thrown out. i explained I was with the lady in the wheelchair, the attenant got me a chair and said I could sit next to her. Meaning I had a much better place to film from. The official camerman did not look to happy.
If you notice the odd sync problem, it's because one performance was on Friday and the other Saturday.

Tyneham - Dorset’s famous ‘lost’ village.
A look at the village of Tyneham in the South of England, filmed over several years, as it's a great place to play with new cameras and lens. I was hoping to have some aerial shots of the village but an unhelpful chap from the Ministry of Defence had other ideas. Some of the buildings might no longer have public access.
Apart from a toilet block, you'll need to provide for yourself and there’s not even an ice cream van there.

Worbarrow Bay and Pondfield Cove, part of the Jurassic Coast in England
Worbarrow Bay is located in the South of England, on the Dorset Coast. You take the Wareham to Swanage road, after a couple of miles, take a right turn and head for the middle of no where. Without a map or GPS you'll never find it, many never do.
Access is normally possible most weekends and the whole of August when the Army are on holiday,

Starlings at Shell Bay
This video was filmed several years ago, so long ago that I had two parents. Since then I have been very careless as Mr O. Wilde put it.
The starlings were filmed over a number of days, near the entrance to Poole Harbour in the south of England. I used a Sony Z150 to film them. To get a great capture, good weather is needed for the starlings to put on a good show.
The music is my own tune, written for the video.
To learn about starlings, please watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfEZ1Gq3XdE

Flowers and Bees for June in Slow Motion - Sony RX10 IV 250 fps real world examples
Unlike the other other bee movie movies, this one is one location rather than one flower.
Filmed on a Sony RX10 iv in High Frame Rate mode, 250 fps, it will go higher but the quality drops. The buffer takes around 40 seconds to write to memory before the camera can be used again.

Blackpool Illuminations
Blackpool Illuminations is an annual Lights Festival, founded in 1879 and first switched on 19 September that year, held each autumn in the English seaside resort of Blackpool on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire.
Also known locally as The Lights or The Illuminations, they run each year for sixty-six days, from late August until early November at a time when most other English seaside resorts' seasons are coming to an end. Dubbed as "the greatest free light show on earth" they are 6 miles (10 km) long and use over one million bulbs. The display stretches along the Promenade from Starr Gate at the south end of the town to Bispham in the north.
