The eerie "Black Hole" in Mani Desert, Greece
We are located in Mani, a historical place, special but also extremely barren. We fly near the village Desert of western Mani, which - as its name suggests - is a vast desert of stones, with only low vegetation.
This monotonous landscape, however, is suddenly interrupted by a "Black Hole". And we call it so because it is the only place that does not rise and does not see the hot sun of Mani.
We fly over the abyss which is probably called Deep Muse - from the little information available about it.
Its vertical "walls" awe and thanks to them and the great depth it has, the ideal conditions are created for a small forest inside. The humidity that is trapped there and the minimal sunshine that enters the abyss feed the unique trees in the area so that they can thrive and compete who will be able to find first above the ground.
Definitely worth studying further by speleologists to map and reveal its well-hidden secrets.
The dimensions of the "Black Hole" are about 50 x 30 meters and its coordinates are as follows:

Karystos: The turquoise cape with winding roads and minimal houses
Enjoy a special flight over a heavenly cape.
We fly over the Paximada peninsula of Karystos, Greece which is an earthly paradise. It is located southwest of the city of Karystos. This is a place with lacy shores. It has continuous turquoise coves and a double beach, called Kolona, where you can swim on both sides. Depending on the direction of the wind, on the one hand there may be a wave but on the other hand there is calm.
The area has another "paradox". It has a labyrinthine asphalt road network with no houses. The reason is that most of it belongs to OSMAES (Building Cooperative of Permanent Officers of the Greek Army) and has the entire road network ready according to its road plan.
At Agia Paraskevi beach there is a small beach bar and wonderful, turquoise, shallow waters.
Enjoy the flight.

This islet in Greece ...oddly looks like Cyprus
There is a place in Greece that is incredibly similar to Cyprus. It is not a cosmopolitan place, nor a place with a lot of tourism. Its only permanent residents are the ... gulls.
We fly over the island of Glaros, in the area of Marathia, Laconia, a place that from above and unexpectedly looks incredibly similar to Cyprus. It is one of the ... strange things in Greece.
This otherwise ... insignificant island is located near famous parts of Laconia, such as Elafonisos.
Just 500 meters separate it from the beautiful beach of Marathias which is a beautiful summer destination due to the golden sand and its large area.
If you visit the area, do not forget to take a look from the beach at ... "Cyprus" of Laconia, this beautiful and lonely island.
Enjoy the flight!

Evia: The double-sided lover's cove of Greece
Enjoy a flight over an unknown, deserted beach in Evia, for quiet situations ...
We fly over Agios Vassilios beach, very close to the huge and noisy beach of Agia Anna in North Evia.
It is accessible by dirt road with a walk about 15 minutes from the nearest asphalt or 30 minutes from the port of Agali.
It is a double beach, where when there is a wave on one side, there is calm on the other.
It is a secluded place where you definitely need supplies if you visit. The place where you park the car is at a distance of 700 meters from the beach, at the point where the cement paving ends. From there there is a walk on an uneven dirt road and at the end there is a steep path. If you carry a lot of things it will be very difficult to return.
The view and the beach is amazing and due to the relative difficulty of access, it is the ideal "shelter" for lovers and couples.
Not suitable for young children unless they go by sea.
Enjoy the flight and enjoy another special and beautiful corner of our Greece.

The most creepy alternative museum: The Park of Souls
Enjoy a flight over the most creepy open "museum" in Greece, the Park of Souls in Parnitha.
Inspired by the history of the Parnitha Sanatorium, the sculptor Spyridon Dassiotis chose the space opposite the imposing and full of memories, now abandoned Sanatorium to create, on a non-profit basis, "The Park of Souls". A set of sculptures from burnt tree trunks from the surrounding area of Sanatorium. The sculptor did not simply carve trunks. He gave "life" to dead tree trunks, thus expressing the feelings held by the inmates of the Sanatorium during the period of their confinement.
Exhibits such as "The pregnant woman", "The cross of martyrdom", "The nostalgia of the mother for the child she left behind", "The couple", "The ear", "The feather", "The reasoning" etc. compose this alternative -if not else- museum.
All this, at 1000 meters above sea level and at 40 minutes from the center of Athens, Greece.

Amazing drone footage of a man-made canal 6.4 km long
he Corinth Canal (Greek: Διώρυγα της Κορίνθου, Dhioryga tis Korinthou) is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The builders dug the canal through the Isthmus at sea level; no locks are employed. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for most modern ships. It now has little economic importance.
The canal was mooted in classical times and an abortive effort was made to build it in the 1st century AD. Construction finally got under way in 1881 but was hampered by geological and financial problems that bankrupted the original builders. It was completed in 1893 but, due to the canal's narrowness, navigational problems and periodic closures to repair landslides from its steep walls, it failed to attract the level of traffic expected by its operators. It is now used mainly for tourist traffic.

Drone Captures Gate To The Holy Mount Athos In Greece
On the top of the Mount Athos peninsula and at a distance of 120km away from the airport of Thessaloniki lies Ouranoupolis, the Gate of Mount Athos. Ouranoupolis is a divine landscape, combining mountainous and sea beauties, promising unforgettable holidays, especially for the travelers seeking the relaxation, away from the stress of the town. The village seems to be a serene portrait which welcomes the pilgrims and prepares them for their spiritual journey to Mount Athos. Besides that Ouranoupolis means in Greek, the city of the heaven, the city who drives you up to heaven... Its visitors are welcomed by the Tower of Andronikos, the “alert protector” of the city for centuries, built in 1344 by the monastery Vatopediou as a protection from the pirates. In front of the tower lies the port, the gate of Mount Athos, where either the ferry boats travel to the monasteries or cruise around the peninsula at a distance of 500m from the beach.
In Ouranoupolis the visitors apart from the hospitality and the friendly spirit of the residents, have the unique chance to savor fresh fish caught in the Mount Athos Golf in traditional fish taverns, to relax in pleasant cafes or bars drinking cocktails on the beach watching the sunset. During the day the activities give unique opportunities for swimming or fishing at exotic beaches across Ouranoupolis, on the small isles, which can be visited either by small fishing boats or small speedboats. There are ferry boats which daily set off from the harbor for the Mount Athos cruise.
Diving, sea sports, cars and motorbikes for rent are being at the disposal of the visitors. Ouranoupolis is surrounded by a wonderful forest which is being offered for walks and exploration, viewing to the village and Mount Athos. Inevitably Ouranoupolis is the last stop for all pilgrims who wish to visit Mount Athos since they have to collect early in the morning the Diamonitirio, a written authorization and the ticket for the ferry boat.

Stunning turquoise beaches in Euboea, Greece filmed from drone
Just two hours from the center of Athens you can enjoy the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Aegean sea, which bathe the eastern coast of central Evia. Beaches presented in this footage are located near the village Agii Apostoli in Evia.
The island of Euboea, or Evia is one of the closest to Athens and yet it is one of the most unknown. That is because Evia is so large that there is much to know about it. Second in size to Crete, it stretches from the tip of the Pelion Peninsula all the way south to the coast of Attika. It's southern tip is just a short distance from the Cycladic islands of Andros and Kea though unfortunately there is no ferry connection.
If there were, more tourists would come here. As it is, because it is so close to the mainland that you can drive to it, Evia has been and remains a popular summer holiday destination for Greeks and Greek-Americans, Canadians, Australians and others whose families originally came from the island.
Euboea is linked to the mainland by two bridges, one that runs through Chalkis and is also accessible from Thebes, and another which bypasses Chalkis and is accessed from Athens. All of Euboea's modern bridges are suspended.
Time to add this place to your bucket list!

Tsichli Baba: The "vertical" Greek island where Napoleon's nephew was mummified
In this island is mummified the body of Napoleon's philhellene niece, Paul Bonaparte and the fallen Frenchmen of the Battle of Navarino (October 8/20, 1827).
Paul Maria Bonaparte (19 February 1809 Canino, Italy - 7 September 1827 Nafplio).
He was a prince of the Bonaparte Family, nephew of Napoleon the Great. He was a philhellene and took part in the war of Greek Independence.
Paul Bonaparte was the third child of Lucien Bonaparte and his wife Alexandrina de Blessab-Bonaparte. He studied at the University of Bologna.
In March 1827, at the age of 18, he left the city secretly from his parents, and went to Ancona from there with a foreign name traveled to Greece to take part in the war for the independence of the Greeks.
Pavlos Bonaparte first arrived in the Ionian Islands, later he was in Nafplio with the British Admiral Cochran, who at that time was in charge of the Greek fleet.
In Nafplio, the capital of the Greek revolutionaries, he was welcomed by the English Admiral Cochran, commander of the Greek fleet.
However, on August 25 / September 6, while cleaning his weapon, he was seriously injured by clumsy handling and died the next day. He was only 19 years old.
In Nafplio, rumors circulated that the death of the young Bonaparte was not accidental, since it even came from the ship of Cochran, which the Greeks suspected of serving the interests of Great Britain.
However, the American philhellene Samuel Howe, who was an eyewitness of the events, assures that as soon as Cochran learned that the wound was fatal, "he began to walk in the cabin of his tears as a child ...".
As it is said, the body of the young Bonaparte was kept for three years in a barrel of rum in the Monastery of Agios Nikolaos Spetses, until it was received by the French Navy. After the liberation, in 1832, the stuffed body of Paul Maria Bonaparte was buried in a mausoleum on the island of Sfaktiria, near the French sailors who fell in the Battle of Navarino.
