Epic drone view of a dangerous, hollow mountain in Greece
The sign reads: "Caution! Danger! Invisible ditches" and this means that one step can be ... fatal.
We fly over the mountain of Attica which ... it is better to see it only from above as the walk in it is extremely dangerous. The depth of the main well reaches 100 meters!
At the beginning and until the middle of the last century, an extremely precious metal, iron, was produced in this place.
We read about it in "urbanspeleology.blogspot.com": The Italian-made iron mines of Grammatikos belonged to the Soutsos family, while the testimony of a local elderly man also tells us about an English company. They started operating around 1880 with endless length galleries on various levels, deep vertical wells, bridges, while the network of the railway line that started from the site, reached -according to different sources- to Ramnounta, Sesi or Limniona. transporting the ore to the ships.
The systematic operation of the facilities must have been abandoned around 1920, as their operation was deemed unprofitable. According to others, they operated until 1930, while the locals say that in the years of occupation (1940) people and property fled the railway line, except for ore. Therefore, according to the testimonies, the mines may have been used occasionally during the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, while they operated regularly in the 1910s, which is confirmed by inscriptions engraved on the bottom of a large well of the facility, which proves the presence of people there. certainly until 1914 ".

Drone captures exotic, guitar-shaped island in Greece
We fly over the strange and magical island that looks like a guitar, which the legendary "Beatles" band wanted to buy. It is called Agia Triada and is located near Eretria, one hour from Athens, Greece.
It has amazing beaches, one on the eastern side with turquoise waters and one dolphin statue and one on the west side where a large sandy bank is sinking and re-emerging due to the tidal effect of Euripus and forms small islands which in the afternoon are submerged under the waters of the South Evoikos.
The area is a real exotic corner, very close to Athens. Many know Eretria, but few know this hidden corner, a breath away from Eretria.

The cluster includes 10 islands which are all uninhabited. In the near past, however, a small population maintained the Megalonissos and Hersonissos, which are the largest islands in the cluster. The other islands of the complex are Avgo, Lamperousa, Flower, Makronissi, Pontikonos, Prasos, Tragos and Fakti. The total area of the complex is about 22.5 square kilometers. The islets enchant with the multicolored water and the exotic beaches that do not remind the other beaches of the southern Euboic area.

This little piece of Paradise is only 40 mins from Athens, Greece
Did you know that in about 40 minutes from the center of Athens there is a unique place.
A sunken boat, a lonely island with a small church like it is from postcards and turquoise waters that look like a painting, compose this little piece of paradise on the outskirts of Athens.
We fly over Vravrona, Attica, south of Artemis, a place that in ancient times was a pole of attraction, which is why the Temple of Artemis was built there.
A few words about the area:
Vravrona is an important archeological site of Attica, known for the temple of Artemis that has given its name to the modern municipality of eastern Attica, but also to the neighboring coastal settlement of Loutsa (current name Artemis). It was built in a creek on the shores of the South Evian Gulf, near the current settlement of Loutsa. It was first inhabited from the Neolithic era. In the time of Theseus (Bronze Age) Vravrona was one of the 20 municipalities that united and formed the later Athenian state. Gradually, Bravrona became a place of worship for Artemis and a temple dedicated to her was built. According to legend during the Trojan campaign, the goddess Artemis demanded the sacrifice of Iphigenia to let the Mycenaean fleet sail to Troy. At the time of the sacrifice, Artemis saved Iphigenia and transported her to the land of the Bulls on the shores of the Black Sea. Iphigenia returned from there to Greece with the help of her brother Orestes. According to a variation of the myth conveyed by Euripides, Iphigenia on her return arrived in the area of Vravrona and became a priestess of Artemis.
The cult of Artemis in the area of Vravrona seems to have started in the 8th century BC, while the temple was built in the 6th century BC. In the following years there was a significant expansion of the place of worship. This extension of the prehistoric Bravrona took place in the times after the Mycenaean era and probably during the Geometric times. Among the ancient writers, Herodotus, Euphoria and Nonnus place Vravrona near the sea. Gradually, however, after the Athenian wars with the Macedonians, the area began to decline and seems to have been abandoned in the 2nd century BC, probably after floods. In fact, three centuries later, the traveler Pausanias mentions almost nothing about the region of Vravrona, except the myth mentioned by Euripides about the return of Iphigenia. The last references of the ancient place name "Vravron" are found during the Byzantine times in the grammar Theognostos (9th century AD) and in the dictionary of Souda (10th century AD)

Drone captures totally unique phenomena from hidden Greek beach
We fly over a special beach in the area of Methoni, Messinia, surrounded by many strange and oddevents.
It is very similar in shape and layout to the famous Voidokilia, however, although it communicates with the sea through a narrow channel, it is ugly in color (brown) and insignificant, as few people know it and we present it for the first time right here.
There is a strange marking on the left side of stones (probably of human origin) along with the initials "A.U.T.". The significance of all this is unknown.
The origin of its name: "The lake of Papa".

Castle Of Parga Stands Proud Against The Sands Of Time
This is the castle of Parga, a castle that was built nearly a thousand years ago to protect the town of Parga from potential invaders. Parga is located in the northwestern area of Greece along the Ionian coast. Because of Parga’s close proximity to the Ionian Sea, Parga was vulnerable to attacks from pirates. The castle was damaged several times throughout the course of history by invaders from other countries as well as pirates.
The first repair of the castle of Parga happened in the 13th century. This repair wasn’t so much because of an attack. This was simply because the Venetians were gaining more control of the surrounding area and they wanted to make the castle more powerful and durable.
The second repair of the castle of Parga occurred in 1572. The castle was subject to several attacks before the repair of the castle. The first time the castle was damaged was in the 15th century, when the castle was under control by the Ottoman Empire. Nearly 100 years later, Hayreddin Barbarossa (also known as “Red Beard”) attacked the already damaged castle, causing significant damage.
The Venetians wanted to repair the castle of Parga after Red Beard’s attack, but the castle was attacked again by the Ottoman Empire in 1572. After this event, the castle was repaired once again. This time, the repair was very successful. The Castle of Parga would continue to last for hundreds of years.
The castle of Parga was eventually sold along with the rest of Parga to Ali Pasha of Ioannina in the early 19th century. Shortly before then, Parga had been taken over by France. The population of Parga was not happy with the French rule, which led to the selling of Parga to Ali Pasha by the British.
The castle of Parga still stands to this day as an artifact of Greek history. It provides an amazing view over the town of Parga and the Ionian coast. The castle is also an amazing example of Venetian architecture. There is a secret path built inside that leads to the sea, which could be a great place to go for a walk. If you don’t want to go for a walk, there are several different attractions inside of the castle. You can visit the jails, warehouses, and other areas where supplies were stored such as guns.
The castle of Parga is now open for tourist visits! A cafeteria was built inside of the castle to provide food to tourists. What could be better than visiting such an interesting piece of history while also being able to enjoy delicious Greek cuisine? The castle of Parga also has a gift shop, so you can take a piece of history with you wherever you go.
The castle of Parga is a great place to visit on your next tour of Greece. It is a castle that has stood the test of time and protected Parga for hundreds of years, and is now a timeless piece of history with an amazing view both inside and out.

Secret Greek island only has one exotic beach
Are we flying over the Caribbean? No, we are in Sapienza, Messinia, southwest of Methoni. It's an island exotic and unique in many ways.
Sapienza is the second largest island of the Messinian Oinousses after Schiza. It is located off the southwest coast of Messinia, opposite Methoni and is a verdant island with rare flora. It has an area of 9 sq.km. and according to the 2001 census, it has a population of 7 inhabitants. Administratively it belongs to the Municipality of Pylos - Nestoros, while in the period 1999 -2010 it belonged to the Municipality of Methoni. Southwest of Sapienza is the deepest point of the Mediterranean, known as the moat or well of Oinousses, with a depth of 5,121m. The highest point of the island is 219m. Access to the island is made by tourist boats departing from Methoni.
Sapienza is located on the important sea route that connects Italy with the Middle East. There have been several shipwrecks on its shores, some of which carried particularly significant cargo, of great value today for archeology. One of the wrecks contained the columns from the large peristyle that Herod had built in Caesarea, Palestine in the 1st century AD. century, while another contained important Roman sarcophagi.
In the southern part of the island there is a lighthouse built in 1885. It has a height of 8 meters and a focal height of 110 meters. The lighthouse was built at the request of Queen Victoria of England. Today it is electrified with photovoltaic systems.
Sapienza has a beach in its northern part, opposite Methoni, which is called Ammos.
The name Sapienza is of Italian origin and means wisdom. From 1209 the island came under the control of the Venetians as well as the entire southern coastline of Messinia. During the 3rd Venetian-Turkish War it was an anchorage of the Turkish and Venetian fleets.
After the liberation of Greece, it became Greek territory. However, it was challenged by England during the Parkerians, when the relations between Greece and England became tense. England claimed the island during this period as part of the Ionian Islands, which belonged to it at the time. The island has remained almost uninhabited in recent decades but showing a very small population in recent censuses.
The island includes rare evergreen forests. Shrubs of Mediterranean plants, such as arbutus or spruce in Sapienza are found in tree
form and form a dense forest. An area of 240 acres of the Sapienza forest has been officially declared a natural monument.
The island is home to a significant population of Cretan chamois, known as kri-kri.

Drone view of picturesque Nafplio, Greece and its cactus forest
Did you know that there is a place in Greece where there are countless natural Greek cacti (prickly pears) and they create a setting reminiscent of far-west and all this next to a very popular and picturesque city?
We fly over the hill of Arvanitia, in Nafplio, where nature has created this incredible scene.
A vast forest of prickly pears creates in Greek standards a setting with cacti that we see only in foreign deserts.
This peculiar "forest" is located inside the castle of Akronafplia and is surrounded by sea.
The steep cliffs full of prickly pears hang almost vertically and end up in the sea.
At sea level there is an amazing walk, the so-called "Arvanitia Tour", where visitors walk on a paved path by the sea under the shade of this peculiar cactus forest. In fact, they have left their "mark" on many of them, engraving on them names and dates. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy the flight!

Magnesite: The unknown "gold" that looks like ...snow. Used in the construction of airplanes
Did you know that in Greece, in only two areas (in Northern Evia and in the area of Gerakini near Thessaloniki) there is a rock that looks like snow and is pure "gold" for the economy and industry?
We fly over North Evia, to a mountain that resembles fresh snow but is… white stone.
White stone or magnesite is white, relatively soft, absorbent and chemically inert. It is used as a raw material for the production of magnesium.
Magnesium is a metal used in the manufacture of light alloys for aircraft fuselages, jet engine components, missiles and missiles, cameras and optical instruments. As magnesium burns with a surprisingly bright white light, it is used in fireworks and other forms of pyrotechnics, such as flares.
In industries such as:
In the steel industry, in the industry of sulfuric acid, sugar, fertilizers, glass, pharmaceuticals and pesticides. As a filler in the production of paints, paper, plastics and tires.
In the production of refractory materials and special refractories such as:
Chromium-magnesiums with the addition of refractory chromite (Cr2O3 + Al2O3 57% and Cr2O3 30%). These refractories are widely used in the lining of interior surfaces of ovens.
In metallurgy, especially in the production of industrial alloys:
Electronic metals with 90% Mg and 10% Al, Zn, Mn and other elements
Magnolia with 10-30% Al and 90-70% Mg
Duralumin with 0.5-2% Mg and the rest Al and a little Si
In the neutralization or retention of pollutants
Caustic magnesium is used as a raw material for the manufacture of refractories. It is also used in the chemical industry, as a chemical accelerator, in the manufacture of tires, in piping, in agriculture as a soil improver, in the production of animal feed and fertilizers, in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries and as a fire retardant in cables and electrical appliances. At the same time, it has many applications in environmental technology, such as in the removal of heavy metals, in the management - inactivation of industrial waste and acid effluents, in the stabilization of solid waste and in the treatment of contaminated soils with heavy metals.
Bipolar magnesia is considered to be highly refractory and is mainly used in the manufacture of refractory bricks. It is also used as an insulating material for tubular resistors, in magnesium phosphate cements and in cable insulation.
