Hilarious parrot lets owner know it's shower time
Einstein begins to sing his "Gotta clean song", a song that his owner will sing when she is cleaning up around his perch and when doing household chores. Then he says, "Go take a shower!" He is not just mimicking, he knows that a shower is a place you go to get clean. "Look at you! You're all wet!" Is a phrase his owner often says when they give Einstein a shower. While this phrase is mimicking, it is worth noting that he recognizes and has an understanding that all these activities are related. Well, until he starts dancing! Einstein, we don't dance in the shower! We might slip and fall! Letting out a sigh, "OH! Boy!" I guess he realized that was a silly idea too!

A parrot such as Einstein can live to be 50 or 60 years old. Many larger parrots like Macaws can live to be 100 years old. They all require a lot of care, proper nutrition, training, time and patience. Parrots need a lot of attention and lots of toys and activities to keep from being bored. Parrots are also expensive, a large cage is an investment and plenty of play perches to spend their out of cage time. Specialized veterinarian care is also required. Most of all they require your companionship and a forever home. Many people decide after the first few years of parrot ownership that the responsibility is too great and the parrots become neglected and sometimes abandoned. When that happens they are sent to parrot rescue facilities to be adopted by a new family or some spend their lives in sanctuaries. It is often said, "Having a parrot is much like raising a 2 or 3 year old child for the rest of your life!"

Parrot invents unique word for very loud insect
Cicadas are large insects that emerge from the ground in the summer as larva. They shed their skin on trees and buildings as they enter their adult stage and get ready to mate. Male cicadas produce very loud calls for the purpose of finding a female. The sound they make can be damaging to the human ear if the cicada made the sound just outside the human ear. It is often difficult to tell precisely where a cicada song is coming from. In late afternoon the sound of the cicadas are very loud and Einstein heard them singing one day. Einstein's owner would say, "Cicada" whenever she heard them while sitting with Einstein in the screen porch. Einstein has never duplicated the sound, (Thank goodness!) but he was interested in learning the word and invented his own version of it.

Parrot loves to have raspberries blown on him
Einstein the parrot and his owner share a special bond. There is a huge level of trust between the two of them. Einstein allows Jeff to turn him upside down in his hands and them while holding onto his finger, Jeff blows raspberries into his chest and on top of his head. (Blowing raspberries is a fun game usually done to a child to make them laugh.) Most birds would take this as an act of aggression, and react in a defensive manner, biting the owner. However, Einstein loves to have this done to him. Jeff is careful not to spit on Einstein. Human saliva contains bacteria that you wouldn't want to get on your parrot. After a good dose of raspberries, Jeff then lays Einstein on the counter for a spin on his back. This is just a fun game that Einstein enjoys doing.

Parrot can't contain happiness after discovering pumpkin seeds
Einstein the parrot loves to munch on pumpkins when they are available in the fall season. Just wash well and serve whole and raw! They are not only nutritious but also a fun foraging and enrichment activity. Einstein enjoys tearing it up and although the ratio of what is consumed versus what is tossed is rather low, it's still worth it. Einstein knows that his favorite treat lies under all that orange flesh, so he carves away for about 30 minutes until to his delight a pumpkin seed is discovered! You can see it in his eyes! His eyes are pinning, an action of when the bird dilates his pupils from large to small (contracting the pupil) so you will notice the pupil go from big and dark, to very tiny. This happens very quickly and it can occur many times. This behavior is sometimes called eye flashing too.

Talking parrot flawlessly imitates the sound of water
African grey parrots are known for their uncanny ability to imitate the sound and Einstein the parrot incredibly imitates the sound of water. Perch on his play swing, he asks, for water, then makes the sound! "Want this one?" He asked as if offering you a drink. He holds his foot to his beak as if to take an imaginary drink. "It's good" he proclaims, then after a clicking sound, he says "drink of water". Finally, he hilariously imitates a gulping sound that he has heard his owners make when drinking water. This is very unusual as parrots don't naturally make this sound when drinking.

Parrot's imitations of animal sounds goes awry
Each and every species of animal has their own aptitudes. Peacocks spread their colorful feathers, Eagles have their famous squawk, and fish, well all fish species swim. A more notable aptitude that a favorite pet has is the ability to speak. Here we have Einstein the Parrot trying his hand at doing some impersonations. Einstein doesn't always get it right when imitating animals sounds. He attempts a squirrel sound and it comes out as a rooster! Oops! He tries again and gets it right!
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to have a parrot as a pet? Well hopefully this video might give you a little insight into what you might expect when taking in one of these clever guys. Obviously not all parrots behave like this, but if you get lucky with the right one, you never know what shenanigans might take place.
How awesome is this parrot though? If you have any videos of your pets doing funny things, be sure to upload it to Rumble.com, and while you're there, you can check out other awesome animal videos!
Check out this funny parrot.

Parrot goes to battle with reindeer impostor
Einstein is a fierce and brave warrior as he battles with an unusual reindeer. Aren't reindeer supposed to guide Santa's sleigh on Christmas? This is obviously a toy chick impersonating one of Santa's reindeer and Einstein took it upon himself to deal with the interloper! Einstein runs after and grabs the little wind-up chick as it hops along the counter. This is a game that he loves to play as he catches them and tosses them to the floor. Note: This is not a parrot toy and should not be given to parrots to play with unsupervised!

Not many people have a parrot as a sous chef! Einstein is very helpful when it comes to salad quality control. He asked what's a rabbit, but rabbit is not on the menu! This parrot thinks he's a cuckoo bird!
Cuckoo clocks are a favorite souvenir of travelers to Germany. Einstein's bird sitter traveled to Germany many times and has a large collection. When Einstein come to visit she turns them all off so all the various sounds don't disturb Einstein during the day and night. On one of Einstein's visits, she forgot to turn the kitchen clock off. Einstein had listened to the clock the entire first day. She realized it was on when she went to bed that night and came back into the kitchen to turn it off for the night. The next morning the bird sitter heard Einstein imitating the "cuckoo"! Obviously he loved the sound! She continued to run the clock only during the day so it wouldn't disturb Einstein sleep. When Einstein returned home he proudly showed off his new talent of being a cuckoo bird! His timing was off as he didn't chime on the hour. Instead, he chimed when ever he wanted!

Flexible parrot demonstrates birdie yoga moves
Einstein is actually stretching, not doing yoga. However, when he stretches it does resemble yoga poses! Parrot and birds of all kinds stretch like this on a regular basis. They are on their feet 24/7 so a good stretch is important. Parrots stretch for the same reasons people do, to lubricate the joints, to release tension, and primarily because stretching feels good. They always stretch one wing and one leg on the same side of their body at the same time. They also do both sides. They instinctively know that stretching is an important activity. Einstein stretches like this first thing in the morning and at least 2 or 3 times during the day, especially after a nap!
