Podcast Episode 10- Pope Pius VII
Today we talk about Pope Pius VII's Seven Sorrows prayer. He was a Benedictine, who served as Pope from 1800 to 1823. He fought slavery, worked to remove the suppression of the Jesuits, was imprisoned by Napoleon, spearheaded religious freedom in France, established the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15th, and established the Papal flag. Quite an impressive track record considering he was imprisoned by Napoleon for 5 years!
