‘The eighth meeting of the WGIHR will be held from 22-26 April 2024. ‘The opening plenary session, which will begin at 9:30 CEST on Monday, 22 April, will be publicly webcast. As agreed by the WGIHR, it will be open to WHO Member States, Associate Members and regional economic integration organizations, as well as to relevant stakeholders. During this session, stakeholders will be invited to deliver their interventions (Agenda Item 1: Opening and Adoption of the Agenda). ‘The WGIHR will then hold a drafting session to negotiate the full suite of the proposed Bureau’s text. This session will be held with attendance limited to WHO Member States; Associate Members; regional economic integration organizations; the Holy See and Liechtenstein as States Parties to the IHR that are not Member States of WHO; and the Observer Delegation of Palestine. ‘This is expected to be the final WGIHR meeting ahead of the Seventy-seventh World Health Assembly in May 2024. ‘The closing plenary of the WGIHR8, expected to be held on the afternoon of Friday, 26 April 2024, will be open and publicly webcast. During this session, the WGIHR will discuss the report of the meeting.’

“I’m very blessed to be sitting here,” she says with a smile. Unlike Michelle Tyler, many COVID patients have not made it out alive. She got sick after visiting family for the holiday, and “did not want to go to the hospital” but ended up admitted, anyway. On the fifth night, she was startled awake to be put on a different oxygen machine and ended up intubated, against her wishes, with great anxiety: “I was very scared, extremely frightened.” Michelle didn’t think she’d make it. It’s a common story: the child develops normally until receiving childhood immunizations, at which point he or she regresses. Amanda’s mom often witnessed this with families she saw as an occupational therapist and recommended her daughter do research on the shots when she became pregnant. Instead of rejecting the schedule entirely, the new mother delayed and modified it. As he grew older, Amanda’s son’s bloody stools and aggression became a concern, and “he was in pain all the time.” Multiple doctors acknowledged the connection between these reactions and the vaccines. In 2008, Katie’s physician encouraged her to get immunized for HPV. “Within a week” of the initial dose, she experienced “massive headaches” and “episodes of severe pain.” At one point, she had to go on hormone therapy because her ovulation stopped. She learned the importance of patient advocacy in the process of testing for and discovering a cyst in her head. Around 5 years after the vaccination, she had brain surgery done.
