Okay, maybe the fact that he scares the bejesus out of us and it’s absolutely thrilling has something to do with it. Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine in 1947 and has been relocating throughout his childhood only to end up once again in Maine. Apparently he witnessed the death of his childhood friend when he was hit by a train, and some critics say that this might have lead King towards the horror genre. These Are The Top 10 Times SNL Stepped On Someone's Toes10m18s

These Are The Top 10 Times SNL Stepped On Someone's Toes

Seriously – can’t anyone take a joke anymore? Welcome to and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Times SNL Pissed Someone Off. For this list, we’re looking at a handful of “Saturday Night Live” skits that annoyed, angered, or disappointed someone or an entire group. Whether the joke was funny is irrelevant. We start the list with when the current POTUS aired his grievances via his favorite medium, Twitter. Alec Baldwin donned the recognizable combover to mock Trump , prompting the POTUS to rage on Twitter. In turn, he provided SNL with enough material to keep on mocking him. It’s an endless cycle. Number nine is the time Adrien Brody went full-on Jamaican, or at least that’s what he thought. After he won that Oscar, he seems to have done everything in his power to squander that momentum. His improv skills were taken into question during his SNL skit when he was supposed to announce reggae musician Sean Paul on the stage - donning fake dreadlocks and an even faker Jamaican accent. Let’s not forget the episode when Down syndrome was the punchline! Since humor is at its best when it is at the expense of someone else, over the years SNL has poked fun at almost anyone. The “Danny's Song” skit centers around a group of friends, sitting in a bar and reminiscing about some unsavory memories. The CEO of the National Down Syndrome Society wrote a lengthy letter to the creators of SNL, calling the skit “insensitive and derogatory”. If you remember, there was a time when Martin Lawrence owned Hollywood. Despite being one of the hottest comedians of the 90s, Lawrence was banned from SNL due to an offensive monologue while hosting an episode in 1994. He spent most of the time lambasting woman for not taking care of themselves. When Tiger Woods wife chased him around with a golf club after the infidelity scandal broke out, the SNL made sure to milk that cow. The sketch was criticized for suggesting that domestic violence is funny when the man is the victim. This is not all! The list keeps going, so be sure to keep on watching for more!

We All Wish We Had Invested In These Things Since 20007m31s

We All Wish We Had Invested In These Things Since 2000

If only you had a time machine, these are the companies you should have invested in! WatchMojo presents the Top 10 Companies That Would Have Returned the Most from an Investment! But what will take the top spot on our list? Will it be Google, Apple, or Amazon? Watch to find out! For this list we are going over the companies, products, stocks and ideas that have yielded some of the biggest profits since the turn of the millenium and we all wish we invested in early. We start with everyone’s well known company. It is a no-brainer - Microsoft is one of the biggest computer companies ever. Their software and operating system are basically the de facto ones for PCs everywhere. Its founder is one of the richest men in the world. They practically have cornered a third of the market and accordingly their stocks have risen immensely! We follow up with the elusive Bitcoin , a cryptocurrency in a digital payment system. It has been all the rage of late and for a very good reason. They are extremely valuable; at one point in 2017 a single bitcoin was valued at around $20,000. We can’t make this list without mentioning good, old fashioned aurum. Gold has been around practically since human civilisation. It is basically the standard by which we judge the value of other things. It may be unlikely, but gold has been incredibly profitable in the early 21st century. If you paid $600 for an ounce of the precious metal in 2006, that value would have gone up to $1600 in only 6 years. We kept it simple and obvious by now. The rest of the list made us want to facepalm ourselves for not thinking about them sooner. Keep watching to see what else is on this list.

We’ve included memorable and hilarious cameos from stars like Fred Savage, David Letterman, Marisa Tomei. Number 10: Al Rocker. Longtime NBC weatherman and TV personality, Al Rocker appeared in Season 5, episode “The Cigar Store Indian”. Oh Al Rocker, what will do you do next? Number 9: Fred Savage. Fred Savage may not be the celebrity he once was but that doesn’t mean he isn’t worthy of a spot on our list. H made a hilarious cameo in the season 4, episode “The Trip”. Number 8: Rudy Giuliani. He made a cameo appearance in Season 5, episode “The Non-Fa Yogurt” in which he denounced a chain of frozen yogurt shops for false. Number 7: George Wendt. George had a small but memorable role in Seinfeld’s fourth season. Gorge Constanza strikes a conversation in Corbin Bernsen while accompanying Jerry to the set of The Tonight Show . Number 6: Raquel Weltch. She played a mean-spirited version of herself in the” Summer Of George” after Kramer mistakenly receives a Tony Award for a musical he had nothing to do with. Number 5: David Letterman. Legendary late night talk show David Letterman had brief but notable Seinfeld cameo in the shows eight season. Number 4: Marisa Tomei. Perhaps the most unlikely celebrity cameo in Seinfeld history if only because she was cast as one of George’s love interests. The date doesn’t end well. Number 3: Bette Midler. When she appeared in the season six, episode “ The Understudy”, Bette Midler, essentially took over the show with her performance. Number 2: Jon Voight. The Academy Award Winner appears on screen for no more than 20 seconds, yet somehow managed to sneak into our top two. Number 1: Keith Hernandez. He may not have been the only baseball player to make a cameo during Seinfeld’s nine season, but he was definitely the funniest!

These 10 Missing People Were Lucky To Eventually Be Found8m05s

These 10 Missing People Were Lucky To Eventually Be Found

Miracles can happen - sometimes they’re just long in the making. From Michele Whitaker, to Denise Desruisseaux Bolser, to Brenda Heist, these victims may have disappeared, but resurfaced. WatchMojo counts down the Top 10 Missing People Who Were Eventually Found. For this list we look at people who disappeared for a lengthy period of time and then turned up again. They may have disappeared against their own free will or of their own accord. Number 10 on this list is the case of Michelle Whitaker. The then Waffle House employee left his family home in 2002, after an argument with her mother, and didn’t come back. The police went looking for her and doubled their efforts when a coworker of Michelle also went missing in a matter of weeks. The second woman’s boyfriend was a suspect in a murder case and the police feared that the man killed both women. When a story of the man went on the air, a woman saw the picture of Whitaker and recognized her as a neighbor. Number 9 is the case of Denise Desruisseaux Bolser. When her husband found a note saying “We’ve got your wife”, the conclusion was logical. Either she was actually kidnapped or the husband murdered the wife and is trying to cover it up. When this New Hampshire bookkeeper went missing in 1985, the circumstances were such, but neither conclusions were entertained for very long. The next year, Bolser was charged with embezzlement from the company she worked at and she left town, after being threatened by her boss. She was found way later, in 2002, by which time the charges have been dropped. The list gets even more curious as it goes on. So be sure to watch it for some quite peculiar missing persons cases that were miraculously solved.

People Went A Bit Overboard With These Fan Theories8m29s

People Went A Bit Overboard With These Fan Theories

What will the fans think of next? Welcome to, and today we will be counting down our picks for the Top 10 Bizarre Television Fan Theories. For this list, we will be looking at those theories about our favorite shows that fans have been debating about. We will stick to in-world theories, so if you think that “Firefly” was canceled by the government or that “The Simpsons” predicted 9/11, you are looking at a list for another day. If not, stick with WatchMojo and open up those neurons. We all know the numerous and creepy ways that The Simpsons has predicted real-life events, so we start the list with this show. Still, long-reigning fans of the decades-spanning series have also noticed some bizarre inconsistencies. Since it is quite normal for the show to stick to a consistent time frame, with the characters never growing old, how come they are always aware of the technologies and culture of the time it airs? Number 9 is Sesame Street. Fans of the show have noticed, similarly to The Simpsons, that the child residents on Sesame Street, don’t age, but they just keep getting replaced with new kids. This can simply be explained with simple cast changes in the studio, but in the world that is Sesame Street, the only explanation is that those kids keep ending up being fed to the Count. Number 8 begs the question “Who is the Scranton Strangler” from The Office. Some call it the “throw-away gag” that stuck as a recurring joke. A mysterious and murderous strangler in the quiet town of Scranton has no place in a situational comedy. Unless, according to this fan theory, it is one of the main characters. Let’s leave it at that. The rest of this list keeps getting cookier. You have to keep watching to find out though!

Top Ten Movies That Aren't On Your Radar For 2018

We all know about the new superhero movies being released this year, but did you even know there's a Cloverfield movie coming out? What other movies should you be excited for that you haven't heard of! WatchMojo presents the top 10 movies that you don't know about in 2018! But what will take the top spot on our list? First Man, God Particle, or Mute? Watch to find out! For this list, we are taking a look at movies coming out in 2018 that you probably haven’t heard of, but you start anticipating now, starting with number ten, ‘Ophelia’. In only a few years, Daisy Ridley has became one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars with her performance on the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ and her iconic role in the ‘Star Wars’ movies. Now, she takes center stage in ‘Ophelia’ which tackles William Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ from a fresh perspective. Since the character is upgraded from a supporting player to a leading role, we believe in her potential to present the most complex depictions of Ophelia yet! With ‘The Lord of the Rings’ Peter Jackson took seemingly unfilmable source material and turned it into a celebrated film franchise . He could very well do the same for ‘Mortal Engines’ an adaptation of Philip Reeve's hit novel. Jackson both produces and co-writes this steampunk adventure, although he hands over directing duties to his long-time collaborator Christian Rivers. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where cities on wheels go to battle over resources. Does the idea of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ meets ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ entice you at all? If so, ‘Mortal Engines’ should be right up your alley! Proceed with this video and find out more as we count down the rest of the movies we picked up for you today. Enjoy!

These Are Some Of The Times Late Night Hosts Got A Bit Too Personal

These are the times that late night hosts opened themselves up for the world to see. Welcome to, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Times Late Night Hosts Got Personal. For this list, we’ll be taking a look at the moments when a late night host showed a more personal side during their television shows. These instances can involve personal stories or strong emotions toward an issue from any point in television history. Get ready for the feels. We start with the time Craig Ferguson discussed his sobriety. During a monologue, he began talking about the then troubled Britney Spears. The audience expected some low-grade hanging fruit, but then he took a turn. After talking about Britney’s entering rehab, he told his own story of alcohol addiction and his subsequent 15 years of sobriety. He did throw in some self-deprecating humor in his speech though. Number 9 is when John Oliver spoke about vaccinating his son. Oliver is known for his humorous, yet deep dives into important topics. He isn’t shy about using his own experiences to make his point. One such great example was his piece about vaccinations. After an almost 30-minute segment about the issue of getting your children vaccinated, Oliver showed a picture of himself with his 19-month-old son. Despite being born prematurely, he said that he went ahead with the boy’s vaccination schedule and he encouraged others to do the same. Number 8 is an even more touching topic. Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” is known for being fun and lighthearted, Fallon manages to give his audience something different and entertaining. That is why it was noticeable when he took a more serious tone and spoke about his mother’s passing. The usually bright and animated host spoke how his mom was his greatest audience and during a detailing of a special memory, he got on the brink of tears. Keep watching for more heartwarming moments when other late night hosts got a bit more intimate with their audience.

People Have Been Busy Making Up These Celebrity Conspiracy Theories

Is Miley Cyrus actually a sleeper agent? Did Stephen King shoot John Lennon? Is Taylor Swift a Satanist? The Internet seems to think so! If it’s online, it has to be accurate, right? Taylor Swift is the high priestess of Satanism. You might think that Swifty is made of sugar, spice and everything nice - but according to the world wide web, it's all one big cover up for the fact that she's secretly a Satanic leader. Cool. Keanu Reeves is immortal. Ever wandered through an art gallery and noticed that there's a lot of old gents in paintings who look a lot like Keanu Reeves? Nope, us either - but apparently a lot of people on the internet have. Apparently, he's been living as the undead since around the year 748, and has popped up in time as a doctor, a painter. Very suspicious. Avril Lavigne died in 2003. Here's where things get really ‘Complicated’. Some intense investigations by a Brazilian Avril Lavigne fan site sparked worldwide confusion recently, after their theory quickly spread that the real Avril died shortly after the release of her Let Go album. They claim that she actually killed herself following the death of her grandfather, but was slyly replaced by a lookalike called Melissa so as not to lose out on any earnings from her huge popularity. Yeah, it's a pretty dark idea, but also kind of hilarious. Lorde is a middle aged woman in disguise. Ever since Lorde burst onto the music scene a couple of years ago, critics have always said that she's talented way beyond her teens. She made her debut with ‘Royals’ at just 16 years old, but um... what if that is actually, technically true? Check out more of these celebrity conspiracy theories.

Top Ten Old-Timey Diseases That Are Making A Comeback7m10s

Top Ten Old-Timey Diseases That Are Making A Comeback

Once upon a time, these afflictions were common, then they all but disappeared. So why are we suddenly hearing about them again? From Syphilis, to Leprosy, to Dengue Fever these once obsolete diseases are coming back in a big way. WatchMojo counts down the top 10 old timey diseases that are coming back to haunt us. For this list, we are focusing on diseases that many associate with nightmares and shivers down the spine. Watch this video to find out more! Back in the days, sexually-transmitted disease Syphilis was bad news which caused open sores, crippling pain and eventually brain damage and death. Just ask iconic gangster Al Capone who famously contracted Syphilis and saw its effects worsen each year. Thankfully, with the discovery of Penicillin the world was handed a simple cure to the sexually transmitted scourge. No need to think about worst case scenarios anymore. Unfortunately, Syphilis not only continues to spread, but is also actually on the rise again. The culprit is likely poor sexual practices. It’s treatable of course, and this old-timey disease will continue its comeback unless people actually get tested and treated. If you don’t live in a tropical climate, the Dengue Fever mosquito disease may not seem like an issue. However, after WWII, this fever became much harder to ignore as displaced people spread the disease, forcing the international community to invest in research and measures to control mosquito populations. Despite these efforts, Dengue Fever remains a timely problem, especially in Southeast Asia where children are at serious risk. This old-timey disease is highly infectious but thankfully it is unlikely to be fatal if appropriate medical attention is given. Then, again, as so often is the case, treatment can be hard to come by in impoverished areas. Proceed with this video and find out more as we count down.

These Movies Probably Shouldn't Have Been Nominated For An Oscar

Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction and this time on WatchMojo we will be counting down our picks for the top 10 worst movies to ever get an Oscar nomination. The Oscar can be contentious to say the least, but we still don't understand how these awful movies managed to get nominated! WatchMojo presents the most baffling flicks to be Recognized by the Academy Awards ! No category is off limits! But what will take the top spot on our list? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Fifty Shades of Grey, or Norbit! Watch to find out! We start this list with an animated motion picture that was cool and all, but not cool enough for an Academy Award nomination. “The Boss Baby” was the brainchild of director and animator Tom McGrath, who’s worked on anything from “Space Jam” to “Megamind”, it is no surprise that the cartoon cleaned up at the box office. But let’s be real, this isn’t the kind of movie people will still be talking about a decade later. Number 9 on this list is “Click”. Who would have thought that in 2006 a movie starring Adam Sandler about a man who discovers a remote control that can manipulate time will ever be nominated for an Academy Award? Not this bunch. Even the Wall Street Journal called the movie “an abomination”, but still it got in line for the Golden Statuette. For Best makeup, nonetheless. Number 8 is “Batman Forever” from further back in 1995. Tim Burton’s “Batman” and “Batman Returns” are certifiable classics. But when Joel Schumacher sat in the director’s chair for “Batman Forever”, the franchise fell off that bandwagon. The film boasted a myriad of names, but it still managed to become a critical disappointment. Still, the movie scored a nomination for best cinematography. Who makes these decisions anyway? Keep watching for more theater flops that got in line for an Oscar.

Stay tuned to learn what you’ve missed! For this list, we’re taking a look at those easily missed parts of the show that boost continuity or are just plain fun! These are the moments where you can tell that the writers and producers really love the show they’re creating. Not only that, but it also makes the rewatch that much more enjoyable ! Saying Creed Bratton is an enigma is a bit of an understatement and this can be said both about the character and the actor. In show and in real life, Bratton was member of the Grass Roots and many baby-boomers will know and love. Even if he left the band, he continued honoring his musical background, one of his albums contains a song called “Spinnin and Reelin’”. In addition, if you listen carefully in the episode you will hear him sing his own catchy tune. Awesome! If you carefully study the letter hanging in the office , and you zoom in to read the description, you will realize that it is just a hilarious letter addressed to design town company that printed the prop. Containing several fake words and a couple of jokes, it is used to look like a newsletter. Also, make sure you look for other funny certificates in the office, since there is one certificate handing on the wall from the Rainforest harvester association awarding them for the achievement of one million cut trees, making all environment conscious viewers cringe a little bit just looking at it. It is a funny little detail that is easily missed unless you know what you look for! Watch the entire video to discover other hidden details in “The Office”. Have you previously noticed any of them? Take A Look At The Top 10 Rich People That Died Without A Penny To Their Name

It would appear that the people on this list flew a little too close to the sun; and they paid dearly for it. From Bela Lugosi, to Marvin Gaye, to Corey Haim, these stars sadly passed without more than a penny to their name. WatchMojo counts down the Top 10 Rich People Who Died Penniless. Life in the spotlight doesn’t come without a price. We often see only the glamorous side of it, the red carpets , the traveling, the sparkly gowns and immaculate tuxedos. From afar, we appear to be spectators of yet another soap opera, but there are a lot of things hiding behind the fake smiles for the paparazzi. Not everyone can cope with the pressure of fame. It comes with money, but it also amasses an awful lot of responsibilities, something not many are ready to tackle on. You have to think about where to keep the wealth, who to entrust with it, what to spend it on, taxes, private properties, vehicles, vacations, outfits, outings… It’s just too much. It often leads to celebrities trying to run as far away from it, ending up in the arms of the only trusted friend they can find - vices. Many of them start using drugs, or take an occasional one drink too many, they might even start gambling and eventually they will start to lose their money down the drain leading to living a penniless life in their last days.

Crossing These International Borders Might Be Bad For Your Health

These lines traced on the map are veritable hotbeds for violence. From U.S.A. & Mexico, to Ethiopia & Eritrea, and Sudan & South Sudan, these borders are pretty scary. WatchMojo counts down Top 10 Most Dangerous International Borders. For this list, we will be looking at borders separating countries around the world that have developed a reputation for being dangerous or risky; either the border itself or in the larger sense due to disputes. We start the list with a border very close to us, the one between the United States of America and Mexico. It might be the most traveled border in the world, but don’t mistake the volume for its general safety. Between the border checkpoints, things get ugly and fast! We travel to Africa for number 9 on this list, with the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea. Located in the Horn of Africa, these two countries saw the war come to an end in 2000. But the end of the war did not mean the end of hostilities and the boundary between the two nations remains contested. These next two countries might share a name, but there is a long history of differences between Sudan and South Sudan. South Sudan was officially formed in 2011, following a 2005 peace treaty that brought an end to the Second Sudanese Civil War. Sadly, the peace was not to last. We leave Africa towards Asia to talk about the border between Russia and Ukraine. The two countries have had a long and bloody relationship. It became particularly bad under Stalin, who began pushing Russian identity all across the Soviet Union. Many decades later, this is a border that is still defined by conflict. Keep watching to find out more.

Here Are 10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Han Solo9m03s

Here Are 10 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Han Solo

Even the most well-known smuggler in the galaxy has a few unknown secrets. From his relationship with Chewbacca, to his Kessel Run claims, to gold dice, there's more to this scruffy-looking nerf herder than meets the eye. WatchMojo counts down the top things you didn't know about Han Solo. For this list we are looking at little known facts about Han from sources currently regarded as part of the official canon. These facts predate the movie “ Solo ”, so stories from the expanded universe or legends about Han’s children Jana, Jason and Anakin do not count. Han Solo met Chewbacca when he rescued him and he now owes Han a “life-debt’. What would Han be without Chewie anyhow? Their somewhat one-sided banter masks a deep bond between man and fuzzball, but the original trilogy does not explain how Han met the Wookie. According to the novel “Star Wars: Aftermath”, the inseparable duo forged their bond some time after the stories in “Clone Wars” and “Revenge of the Sith”. His character was at least partially based on Francis Ford Coppola. He has become one of the most iconic reluctant heroes in cinematic history; a pragmatic cynical rogue and gambler with a heart of gold. But his cock-sure wit and charm were actually inspired by a real person and a very famous one too. Apparently, Locas drew on the suave, smooth-talking swagger of his friend and fellow filmmaker Frank Coppola when he was putting the cunning character together. Did you know that he-who-shot-first hails from Corellia? Audiences first encountered Han in the Moss Eisley cantina on the backwater desert world of Tatooine. But the space pilot actually grew up on Corellia, a planet located in the galaxy’s more prestigious inner core. This is only the tip of the iceberg of facts about the space pilot, so be sure to keep watching if you want to find them all out.

Here Is A List Of Ten Actors Speculated To Be Overpaid

Hiring these guys isn't exactly a bargain. From Will Smith, to Adam Sandler, to Brad Pitt, these actors probably make a bit too much money, especially based on the box office returns of some of their films. WatchMojo ranks the top overpaid actors and for this list we are looking at the actors whose salaries are higher than they should be, given their box office results and/or the poor quality of their performances, at least in some cases. Despite the rocky beginning, Ben Affleck ’s career really took off when he began directing and pursuing more dramatic roles. However, the dimple-chinned actor has gone on to appear in several critically pulverizing movies. Granted Affleck’s performances have always been strong, often being universally hailed as stand-out parts of divisive films. Even so, at points during the 2010s, films he was in made only $12.30 for every $1 he was paid, making for a bad investment. He was hoping either he or casting agents can make better choices in the future. Once the fresh prince of the box office, holding several records for starring in films grossing in a hundreds millions, Will Smith ’s fortunes got flipped, turned upside down during the 2010s. Although the actor is still a box office draw, and his performances remain full of charisma, Smith was featured in a number of critical failures as well as some unexpected flops and misfires. This resulted in him earning $1 for every five madeby theaters for his films in 2016, which definitely qualifies as overpaid, no matter how much love is there for the guy! Watch the rest of the video and find out which other actors are speculated to be overpaid.
