Ace became the Toronto Blue Jays sole mascot in 2004. Ace wears the number zero. Ace's website jokingly mentioned that his mother was a goose feather supplier and his father invented bird stickers commonly found on windows. Ace underwent some changes in 2012 when the team changed their logo and uniforms. The Gold Cup is held every two years with a 12-nation field: three from North America, five from Central America, four from the Caribbean. Dominica, ranked nearly 100 places behind Canada, was predicted to struggle in the match. Playing against the likes of Premier League winger Junior Hoilett and Barcelona B’s Ballou Tabla, and Beşiktaş Atiba Hutchinson it was a one sided affair with match ending in a 5-0 victory for team Canada.
