Here's why Matt Gaetz said he will be voting against the resolution to expel Congressman George Santos from the House of Representatives. Matt Gaetz: If George Santos is convicted he ought to be expelled, but until then it is an incredibly dangerous thing for people in Washington DC to substitute their judgment for the judgment of voters. Winston Churchill said that, you know, in, in a democracy people get the government that they deserve. Well, the people of Mr. Santos's District elected him. And like this is not some district in rural Mississippi with like one newspaper, this is New York City and George Santos rolls in there, wins, and you know what, it's between him and his voters, him and the justice system. And the fact that the Ethics Committee has done this incredible violation of precedent will do grave damage to this institution for many years to come, because now there's no requirement of any conviction. There is a departure from the precedent from the Duncan Hunter matter and many others, and I, I fear what that may indicate lies ahead for the future of due process in the House of Representatives. House Republican leaders, along with chairs of three committees investigating the Biden family, held a news conference to outline their findings. Here is what Jim Jordan, the Chairman of the Judiciary had to contribute. Chairman Jim Jordan: This story is old as old as time. You have a politician who does certain things, those actions benefit his family financially, and then there's an effort to sweep it all under the rug, and we know this has happened. The best example is to use the Ukrainian energy company, Burisma. Four key facts, Hunter Biden gets put on the board of Burisma, fact number one. Fact number two, he's not qualified to be on the board. He said to himself in an ABC interview, he said he got the job because of his last name. Fact number three, the executives at Burisma ask Hunter Biden specifically, will you weigh in with folks in DC to help us deal with the pressure we are under? A few days later Joe Biden gets on a plane, flies to Kiev, and announces that you will not get the money that was already approved unless you fire the prosecutor who was applying the pressure. That all happens. That all happens. Those key facts happen and those facts are confirmed by some of the evidence we've uncovered already, already. This 1023 form where the confidential human source told the FBI, and it was recorded in this form. Those are the key facts. And now it's important, we got a lot of those key facts when we interviewed one of Hunter Biden's business partners, Mr, Archer, it's important we talk to the others. We need to talk to Eric Scheuermann. We need to talk to Rob Walker. We need to talk to Tony Bobalinski. And we're in conversations with their lawyers and we think those are going to happen. And we need to talk to Jim Biden who was also in business with Hunter Biden. Those things need to happen and then, as the chairman just said, as Chairman Comer just said, we will have Hunter Biden in a deposition and, frankly, I think in a in an open hearing, I think that would be that would be great. That's what needs to happen so the American people get the facts, get the truth, and we can make a decision on how we move forward as a conference. And we need to congressional action, both for the lawful pathways that really need to be more robust in statute, and for the 12 million people who are here in the United States who have been contributing so fundamentally to our countries wellbeing. They're neighbors, our friends, our fellow congregants. They provide our frontline workers. We need to do something and I am hopeful and remain hopeful that Congress will do it. On April 6th, 2005, Thomas Sowell was interviewed by Brian Lamb on CSPAN's Q&A show about his book Black Rednecks and White Liberals. Brian Lamb: You have a chapter, that's the first chapter Black Rednecks and White Liberals, the second chapter's Are Jews Generic. Why the jump to, from Black Rednecks and White Liberals to Are Jews Generic? What's the point? Thomas Sowell: This book is really about ethnic and cultural issues in general, so, there's a chapter on the Jews, a chapter on the Germans, and then there's a chapter on history in general. So that, that's, their lumped together because they're all cultural ethnic issues and we move on to the Jews because its a fascination story because among the middleman minorities, of which the Jews are most prominent, the hostility of these people in countries around the world is out of all proportion to that of any other kind of group I can think of. In terms of violence, the number of black, the number of Chinese killed lets say in one year and by mob actually exceeds all the blacks lynched in the entire history of the United States. And the number of Armenians killed in Turkey during the First World War is greater than that. And of course the number of Jews slaughtered on a number of occasions in history, even before the Holocaust, is greater than that. So, the question is why this particular kind of people are the targets of so much venomous hatred, and I think the answer is that they have not only succeeded, they succeed in a way which is the threat to the egos of other people. Video Transcript Theo Von: Today’s guest is Mr. Jordan Peterson . . . Jordan Peterson: I am also concerned though, and this is a conundrum, it’s like, if you don’t allow anonymity you have to have verified ID, but if you have digitally verified ID then you run into the problems of digitally verified ID, you know, and they’re running down that road in China now. So, in China for example, God this is going to happen here, I think too, although maybe people will fight it. If a, if a traffic camera catches you jaywalking in China, okay so, the the digital ID system has you, has your blood now, has your genetic code has your photograph, it can identify how you walk, so even if you can’t see a face you can be picked up by gate, it will convict you of jaywalking and take money out of your bank account with no intermediating judiciary at all, and show a picture of you to the people in the neighborhood so they know that you have jaywalked, and reduce your social credit score. And if your social credit score falls below a certain level, then you can’t, you can’t buy drinks from a vending machine. You can’t play video games. You can’t go on a train. You can’t get out of your 15 minute city. All that’s already in place in China. Theo Von: Do you think that that would be helpful or unhelpful. Jordan Peterson: Oh, it would be I think it would bring in, and has already in China, I think it’ll bring in a totalitarian tyranny so 100% complete that it would make George Orwell’s 1984 look like a picnic. They’re, they’re microchipping welding machines in China now so you won’t be able to use a welding machine without scanning your face. They have lockdown knives in China. They’re, knives are literally chained to the counter and . . . Theo Von: Oh, like at the bank or something, you mean?
