Jerry CE5 COTI. Defintely some Pro's & Con's, also having a FLIR Breach PTQ136 to compare the two, each have advantages and disadvantages. The FLIR's image is much better and has 7 thermal modes, however thermal does not see infrared lasers. I ran the FLIR bridged with a PVS-14, then decided to go with dual PVS-14's but missed the thermal capability. The Infiray Jerry CE2/CE5 are the only affordable COTI's on the market so picked one up. Unfortunately right now I had an issue with one of my PVS-14's so it was sent back to the manufacture, hopefully to be repaired under warranty. So as you know, a COTI creates a Fusion Image by overlaying the thermal image on top of your night vision image. The CE5 has a 30 degree FOV which is the majority of the PVS-14 view. It offers 3 distinct settings, Full Thermal, Outline, Highlighted, which Outline and Highlighted are the most useable. It would have been nice to test with both my PVS-14's, because running it on a single PVS-14 was basically like running the FLIR with less options. But if you have dual tubes, you are better off with a COTI because you do not want to lose a tube to bridge a thermal. But, if you are only running a single tube, then I would recommend a FLIR or MH25, unless you plan on going dual tube in the future. I still have to play with it some more and the ultimate test is night time shooting out in the Arizona desert.
