Bengals are a very active breed that love to play, they are full of energy especially as kittens. Providing a mate for you Bengal helps keep them healthy and makes life easier when leaving the house knowing that they have each others company.

On this day we brought home our second Bengal Cat, at first they fought each other but now are the best of friends. Luckily both boys have the same energy levels and spend hours chasing each other around the house and climbing the furniture. Bengals spend a large amount of their day playing so is important when adopting another cat to find one with similar energy levels as you don't want the secondary cat to find this annoying or as a threat.

Wands/teaser sticks are a much loved toy for any Bengal. They are a great way to burn off energy and help them stay fit and healthy.

Bengal cats are excellent climbers most likely due to their Asian Leopard Cat DNA. They are known to enjoy climbing tall furniture in the home and can access suprisingly high spots. This allows them to feel safe as they can see whats going on around them and can't easily be caught. Our youngest Bengal enjoys sitting and watching out for his brother from the top of the door frame.

Bengal kittens are known to be very active and love to play. The cat specific laser pen entertains our kittens for hours on end as they chase it round the house.

Bengal cats are very social, they love spending time with their own. Our bengal brothers spend many hours a day playing alongside each other getting up to mischief.

Bengal Cats are one of the most active breeds, they are especially hyperactive as kittens. They have an athletic build to match their quests for climbing, hunting and jumping. Bengals make brilliant pets as long as they are kept physically and mentally stimulated.

For a special treat Charlie the french bulldog was given a taste of a fruit lolly pop. This cute little pup enjoyed the lolly pop that much he stole it from his owners hand and took it straight to his bed to tuck in to.

At 4 months of age Charlie the french bulldog suddenly refused to walk down the stairs. Having had hyperactive Charlie from 10 weeks old his owners struggled to keep him calm from running riot up and down the house..until one day Charlie refused to walk down the stairs. Baffled by this sudden change Charlies owners decided to video this. Having tried to coax Charlie down with all kinds of treats/dinner Charlie would not budge happily ignoring his owners request.

With very little training Charlie the french bulldog has learnt to be patient when it comes to meal times. Charlie loves meal times more than anything else and would eat and eat and eat if allowed. In the past Charlie would dive straight in to his bowl once his food was served but has now learnt to sit and wait for his owner to tell him when to go. Dogs love being rewarded particularly with food/treats but some can get so excited at receiving a reward they forget their doggie manners. Whether your dog is too grabby with toys ordives in to their food bowl at mealtimes there are some steps you can take to prevent/stop this impulsive behavior. Teaching a dog to wait for food can be difficult at first but with little training they will soon learn to be more patient. If you want to work on impulse control it is important to introduce a key word/cue such as "wait" when dishing out your dogs treats. This type of training requires a humane approach by teaching your dog an alternate behaviour. Firstly put a treat/food in your dogs bowl and hold the bowl at chest level. Then ask your dog to sit and start to lower the food bowl towards the ground. Ask your dog to "wait", if they are able to sit still in one place whilst you lower the bowl towards the ground praise them for doing well. If your dog decides to move then raise the bowl or remove the bowl from the ground and repeat. Once your dog has mastered sitting still whilst you lower the bowl/place it on the ground wait a few seconds then give your dog another cue such as "go" so your dog knows it is okay to go forward to their treat. Over time you will notice your dog already sitting and waiting for his food to be served before he dives in and waiting on your cue to go.

Charlie the french bulldog loves nothing more than spending time with his owners playing and learning tricks, this one time in particular Charlies owners caught him on camera having a sneezing fit whilst in the middle of play time. A dog sneezing is common, normal and can be cute/funny to watch. There are many reasons why dogs sneeze and it doesn't tend to mean that your dog has a cold. In actual fact dogs sneeze for a number of reasons due to say dust or it might just be a play sneeze, it all depends on how often your dog is sneezing and what colour the discharge is. In most case your dog is probably sneezing in response to an irritant in the airway of their nose. Your dog will sneeze to remove the irritant just like us humans would. Irritants could include dust, perfume, pollen or household products and in some cases if your dog has been outside digging then dirt could get stuck up their nose. Always be wary if your dogs nose is bleeding or they keep pawing at their nose and sneezing as this could be a sign that something is stuck and a vet trip is needed. In the majority of cases though sneezing will remove any unwanted irritant. Many dog owners will say they notice their dog sneeze when they are playing or excited by something, this is normal and harmless for any dog. As seen in this video Charlie was caught on camera sneezing whilst playing and learning tricks with his owner. Sneezing when playing is most common in small dog breeds like Charlie the French Bulldog but many other breeds will do it. During play time together your dog sneezing should be nothing to worry about.

Its Christmas time and Charlies owners decided to treat him to a new chew bone, this time though the bone purchased was bigger than puppy Charlie himself. There are many benefits of giving a dog a bone to chew on and when we say bone we do not mean bones leftover from a roast dinner for example which may cause digestive problems and which are too abrasive and can wear down the teeth. What we actually mean by bones is the kind specifically designed for dogs. Some of the many benefits include dental benefits, chewing on a bone is good for your dogs teeth by helping scrape away plaque, which can cause bad breath and a variety of serious dental problems. Chewing a bone can control tartar buildup helping prevent yellowing of the teeth and diseases. Bones can also help prevent boredom keeping your dog entertained for hours and stimulating the mind, i mean nobody wants to think of their dog sat at home bored when they're out at work or the shops. If you're worried about your dog chewing up your house, a bone or some chew toys may help prevent this by giving your dog a much better alternative than a table leg for example.

As we all know sleeping next to someone who snores like a rhino can be rather irratating... After a long walk to the nearby shop Charlie the french bulldog was exhausted and needed a well deserved sleep, but for his owners who just wanted to chill out and watch a film had to sit and endure the long loud snores of puppy Charlie. Snoring is a noise caused by the vibration of the soft tissues of a dog’s mouth and throat. The vibration arises when there is a disruption of the normal flow of air along the dogs airway. The interior of a healthy dogs throat is cleverly designed to keep him oxygenated and cool. Too much tissue, or tissue that is too floppy may cause a narrowing of the throat. Snoring is much more common in breeds with very short muzzles (like bulldogs).

Having had his second lot of injections, Charlie the French Bulldog is now allowed outside for walks. Unfortunately for Charlie the weather outside isn't the greatest, with temperatures quickly plummeting. Charlie loves nothing more than snuggling up to the radiator to keep warm in his nice cozy bed!

This year is Charlie the french bulldogs first Christmas and with his new family he helped in putting up the Christmas tree (more in chewing the baubles). Not only are the round colourful baubles fun to look at and play with for Charlie he has now decided the artificial Christmas tree tastes particularly nice too. Naturally dogs are inquisitive animals who love to investigate everything you bring into the home. As Christmas approaches and people start to put up their Christmas tree we cannot expect them not to notice it. In addition to the Christmas tree theres the lights, decorations and a potential place to pee. A colorful tree appearing in your home can lead to it being urinated on or even being knocked down. Whether real or fake, the Christmas tree can be one of the most baffling parts about Christmas for our pets. Real Christmas trees hail from the pine family, generally pine is considered to not be particularly toxic to people or pets. However, Christmas trees can pose a risk to pets if they pick up sharp needles in their paws or play under or around the tree where needles might cause damage to their eyes. It is therefore important to keep an eye on your dog when around the Christmas tree. Dogs will not usually try to eat the tree although there is always the odd exception and ingesting a small amount of pine sap will not usually pose a large threat to health. If a dog were to ingest a large quantity of sap it may cause a minor gastrointestinal irritation and upset stomach. Advice most will give is to choose a non-shedding tree out of choice if you prefer to have a real tree over an artificial one.

Who would of thought a squeaky pig toy could be so entertaining..this video shows Charlie the french bulldog enjoying his new favourite toy. As most of us well know many of our four-legged companions go crazy for a new toy, and it’s often a toy with a squeak or loud noise. We can question though why dogs love squeaky toys so much? As much as we may believe the little rascal just enjoys irritating us with the squeaky noise, there are several theories about why dogs are attracted to squeaky toys. For anyone who has purchased a squeaky toy for their dog before you might notice that your dog seems to lose enthusiasm for a toy once the squeak-mechanism has been removed, so it does seem as though it’s the squeaking aspect of the toy the dog is drawn to, rather than just the toy itself. Domestic dogs are descended from wolves and some theorize that the squeaky noise is reminiscent of the squeaking sound frightened or injured prey would make, appealing to your dog’s hunting instincts. Once the squeaker has been removed, the prey is “dead” and your dog’s job is complete. There are many more interesting theories that we can examine to better understand our dogs behaviour.

With winter time approaching and temperatures rapidly plummeting Charlie the french bulldog was due a new warmer and comfier bed, this video shows Charlie giving his owners approval when they introduce him to this new luxury. A good bed provides insulation, support for our backs and joints, warmth, and a feeling of security. When a dog has a bed of their own, they get all of these benefits, and more. When pet owners ask what items they need to purchase for their dog, a good dog bed is always at the top of the list alongside a collar, lead, food, and feeding/water bowls. Dog beds are extremely important, in fact, we consider beds essential for all dogs regardless of age, breed or size. Dog beds provide important benefits: Insulation-Dog beds keep your dog off the cold, hard floors. In the wintertime especially, many dogs love to curl up in a nesting-type bed which provides warmth for both comfort and good health. Privacy & security-Beds give your dog his own space throughout your home to retreat to whenever necessary. They will love having one or more places to call their very own. Cushioning for joints and bones- a soft place to rest is especially important for older, arthritic, or overweight dogs. Injury prevention-dog beds help prevent injuries by keeping your dog from jumping up to and down from high furniture. This is especially important for older dogs and smaller breeds. Beds are so much more than soft squares placed around the home, dog beds offer many benefits and play a large role in your dogs ongoing health and satisfaction.

Winter holidays are especially exciting, with all the sparkly lights, ornaments and colorful decorations, and don’t get us started on the chocolates and treats! All of these things are great fun, and no less so for our pets. Charlie the french bulldog loved nothing more than helping his family put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house, so much so he got himself caught up in the Christmas lights and had his owners in tears of laughter!
