I can see you! crow playing peek-a-boo
When you set up a camera to capture wildlife, you get the most amazing footage. It is beautiful in Our Wildlife Oasis in Berkshire England. We often get the same visitors and you get to know their behaviour quite a bit, but every now and then they surprise you by doing funny things. I had not seen this crow sit on the camera before. I love this video as it starts off by seeing the claws only and then the crow bends down to look at the eye of the camera. They know that we come and feed them and the squirrel often looks at the camera when the birdfeeder or nuthut is empty as if to say: lady, we need more food :) Theyare clever little critters and they watch us as much as we watch them. They know when we come out with food and they also know how to get our attention when they want more food. Stopping by the window as if to say: Have you forgotten about us? I feel very blessed to have my own little wildpark at home :)

Real squirrel versa nutcracker squirrel
We attended a wildlife show and my partner won a squirrel nutcracker at a raffle. We let the fake squirrel guard a peanut in front of our squirrel cam ;)
Squirrels are just too cute. I love what the hidden cam captures :) I hope you enjoy it too

Cheeky coal tit kicking out the nut that is not worthy eating
This cheeky coaltit disposes off the nut it doesn't deem worthy to eat. The bird picks the peanut up with its beak, then drops it down and side-kicks it off the nut-hut, which used to be a bug-house. The bug-house turned into the nut-hut ( like a British pub ) when the bee-hotel got destroyed by, what we believe to have been, the woodpecker and squirrel, however, we have no proof of that as the camera did not trigger for the demolition action.
Welcome to Our Wildlife Oasis where we have put up several cameras to get footage of our daily visitors. We leave out treats and water for them. Especially on hot days the water is very much appreciated by the wonderful British wildlife that comes into our garden to visit the wildlife pit-stop, the nut-hut, the birdfeeder or the bird-bath. We are lucky to have a big garden in Berkshire in England and we get to see many birds, grey squirrels, foxes and hedgehogs. We try not to feed them too much, sometimes leaving out a few days so they do not get dependent on us, at the end of the day, these are wild creatures and their survival depends on being resourceful and we do not want to give them a false sense of a secured food source. The cameras record night and day and I pick the footage and edit it for the final cut. I could watch these beautiful animals all day long and I do get through a lot of footage. Sometimes the cameras do not pick things up that I see in the garden either.

So you thought magpies were black and white?
Eurasian magpies are often believed to be black and white, however when the sun shines on their plumage, beautiful shimmering colours shine through.
Many people think of magpies as being black and white. Well first of all, there are Australian magpies and Eurasian magpies, and although they are both called magpies, they look quite different. This is a video of Eurasian magpies and their plumage looks amazing when the light falls on it. It shimmers in shades of blue and green and makes them look rather exotic. We have an adult and a fledgling in our Wildlife Oasis, being regular visitors. Showing off their gorgeous feathers as they bathe and drink and enjoy our wildlife oasis during the hot summer days in Berkshire, England, UK. Summer 2020.

This is Willie, the harbour seal from Sylt
Willie, short for Wilhelmine, is a famous seal that regularly visits the harbour of Hoernum on the island Sylt in northern Germany. She is feral, but she knows where to get easy fish. Tourists love her and a fish and chips stand at the harbour sells raw fish for tourists to feed her. Many stand at the edge of the harbour, calling her name until she appears. If you hold the fish out of the water, she will stretch up and bounce like a buoy to get to the fish. She is a magnificent creature, a grey seal. This footage was recorded back in September 2012.

Squirrel chasing magpies away
Just another day of our grey squirrel being cute but also very much defending the nuts we put out there. Here you can see they grey squirrel chasing away magpies who are coming too close to the foodsource. It's not really in its nature to share, it seems.
We welcome all wildlife in Our Wildlife Oasis in our beautiful garden in Berkshire, UK

Squirrel on the birdbath in Our Wildlife Oasis - August 2020
It is so important to leave water out for our British wildlife during the hotter summer months. This little fella has no problem getting up to the birdbath for a drink as you can see the grey squirrel hopping on and off it as it pleases.
We love to welcome British Wildlife into Our Wildlife Oasis, which is a garden in Berkshire England. Squirrels are so entertaining.

Cute dog snapping at water coming out of a hose
Cute Malamute Q loves to play with water, here he is snapping at it coming out of a hose to fill up his playpan.
We are currently dog-sitting in Oxfordshire. Two beautiful malamutes, this is Q, one of them. They struggle with the current summer heat because of their thick fur, so we thought water will help to cool them down. Q is the younger one and still very energetic and playful. He had an amazing time splashing about outside in the waterpan, more videos to come on that. But here he is simply loving the water dashing out of the hose and tries to get it by snapping at it. He looks up with expectation when the waterflow stops, when it starts again, he gets a little confused when it disappeared just as he snapped at it.For most of the time he is also keeping his front two paws in the waterpan whilst chasing the water to cool him down. Alaskan malamutes have very dense fur, they are so fluffy. The dogs we are dog sitting and looking after at the moment are very big and very lovable. They love cuddles and treats, of course. Today they were not very much up for a walk because of the heat, so we stayed mostly in the shade in the garden and let them release their energy in play with water to cool down.

British garden birds - bath time compilation 18th-22nd July 2020
Welcome to Our Wildlife Oasis! We have wonderful British wildlife visit our garden and especially birds love to come by for a little splash during the hotter days of summer.
Here's a little compilation of birds caught on camera splashing and cooling down over a period of 5 days in our garden. Be it at our pit-stop, where we laid out two little water-dishes or the bigger bird bath. We try to have water ready for them at all times. We do not feed them every day as we do not want them to become reliant on us with regards to their food source though, after all, they are wild animals and need to be able and capable to fend for themselves and teach their young the same.
In this video you see eurasian magpies, a european jackdaw, a european robin, female blackbird, coaltit and a thrush
These are birds native in Europe. Our garden is located in Berkshire, UK

Backbend fanveil flutters slowmotion
Sandy Maya is a dancer, performer and choreographer, based in Berkshire, England, UK. Fluttering fanveils in the heat this summer seems to be the best prop choice for dancing outdoors. Any opportunity to keep dancing and to practise move and to stay motivated and inspired during these strange corona times where social distance rules have made so many things a challenge. But regardless of the current circumstance I stay creative and use any moment I have to work on my self, my style, my flexibility and create choreographies for students, the bellyfaires and myself. But not only the dancing itself, the way I film and edit my videos evolves with every take and I love the way my channel grows with an engaging audience. Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life :) Love your body, be good to your body, move your body, dance! This is a magical world and we need to make the most of what we've got. Keep on dancing everyone! Spread the love and shine your light!

Did you know that squirrels make noises like this?
So, here's a noisy grey squirrel in a tree. I was recently asked, while walking through the woods, what that noise was and I responded: a squirrel. The person who had asked me looked at me in disbelief and I could not prove it as we could not spot the squirrel. So, even though I knew it was a squirrel, because we have a few in our garden and I am quite familiar with their noises and behaviour, the person who asked me who was making the noise, did not believe me. A few days later however, I was able to take this footage of a squirrel making these noises. Granted, the footage is not great, it's shaky and there is a lot of background noise, I cut out the noise where cars were rushing past drowning out the squirrel's noise, but fact of the matter is that the creatures make these noises. I love the way their tail twitches to match the noises. What you cannot really hear on this clip is that this squirrel got a response from another squirrel further in the distance. So this is their way to communicate, what they are saying to each other, I cannot explain, as I am no expert, however I am pleased I got this on camera. Maybe next time I can take my time and use a tripod for better and steadier filming :) In addition to these noises, they also hiss like an angry cat, maybe I'll get that recorded one day as well :) I hope you enjoyed it and even learned something new. We are surrounded by beauty and there's always something new to be discovered in nature

Bathing woodpigeon in our birdbath - it just about fits in
I love how the woodpigeons take over the whole birdbath by simply sitting in it, sometimes I can see one when I look out of the window and it just sits in the water for ages, not moving, just enjoying the cooling water and with their size they fit right in. But on this occasion the pigeon was a bit more active in the process of washing itself and a bit of wing flutter at the end.
This footage is from our garden in Berkshire UK in September 2020

Magpie poking squirrel in the butt
Magpies and squirrels always compete about food in our garden. A lot of chasing and poking between them. This is a funny one because it is so cheeky when the magpie inches in closer to the squirrel to give it a poke.

Female blackbird demonstrated the corkscrew move
Our Wildlife Oasis is a place for wildlife to hang out in, have drink, eat some treats and splash around to cool down during the hotter days of summer. Here is a very enthusiastic female blackbird diving into the little water-dish with all might. The move looks like a corkscrew. A lot of splashing involved here. It is delightful to have these beautiful birds come and hang out in our garden.

Fox visits at Our Wildlife Oasis - 31st August 2020
It's been a while since we had two foxes on our cameras at the same time, but here they are, beautiful, with their red fur on the daylight footage. We are so happy they feel comfortable in our wildlife oasis where we provide water and sometimes treats, although they are actually meant for the hedgehog. This footage is from the 31st August 2020

At Our Wildlife Oasis, we leave out treats and water for our wildlife visitors. This beautiful jay is just one of many beautiful species coming to our British garden. This footage is from the 22nd July 2020. I absolutely love the light brown plumage, almost orange and those blue edges on the wings making the jay appear almost like an exotic bird.

Night glow fanveils - dancing led fanveils in the dark
Sandy Maya is a dancer, performer and choreographer, based in Berkshire, England, UK. Last night I decided to make the most of the warm weather and take my led fanveils out for a little twirl.
