Now as a veteran and an experienced businessman, Kurt continues to help teach business courses as adjunct faculty for OC, UW, UW/T, WWU going on 23 years! Kurt is a long time Kitsap County resident of 36 years and a family man with a marriage of 51 years and counting. This state needs Kurt's steadfast work ethic in Olympia because as he would say: "We can do better!"

Increasingly, the government continues to overstep its power with regard to individual property rights. Over regulation and delays in permitting are creating unnecessary hardships on property owners and businesses. I will work to streamline permitting and remove unnecessary regulations that restrict business growth and infringe on private property owners’ rights

This measure would require utilities and local governments to provide natural gas to eligible customers; prevent state approval of rate plans requiring or incentivizing gas service termination, restricting access to gas service, or making it cost-prohibitive; and prohibit the state energy code, localities, and air pollution control agencies from penalizing gas use. It would repeal sections of chapter 351, Laws of 2024, including planning requirements for cost-effective electrification and prohibitions on gas rebates and incentives.
