Congress is planning to give the Pentagon a raise.
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute and a reminder to use code LIGHTHOUSE at ZStackLife.com to supercharge your immune system this cold and flu season.
I am all for the United States having the largest, most expensive military on the planet.
But.. the Pentagon has failed their financial audits five years in a row.
In the most recent audit, the US Military cannot account for over $2 trillion in assets.
Maybe the military needs to spend less time trying to understand "white rage" and trying to force experimental vaccines on the healthiest people around and start focusing on protecting our nation and her assets.
$2 trillion in lost assets is worth investigating. People need to be fired. I say, no more budget increases until the Department of Defense fixes their accounting.
If you or I failed 5 consecutive audits, we would be in federal prison.
Just like the rest of government, the Pentagon needs to remember that money and those assets belong to We The People

Ukrainian President Zelensky is Time Magazine’s Person of the year.
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute, brought to you by Dr. Zelenko's Z-Stack. Use code LIGHTHOUSE at ZStackLife.com to supercharge your immune system before cold and flu season.
Ukrainian President Zelensky has single-handedly destroyed the free press and his people’s freedom of religion.
Volodymyr Zelensky has taken over the news media in his country. The Ukrainian people can now only see what Zelensky wants them to see.
Zelensky has banned one of the oldest religions in his country because it has ties to Russia.
Before the Russian invasions, we heard about corruption in Ukraine.
Zelensky was accused of jailing his political opponents.
There were rumors of mass graves in Eastern Ukraine.
Now, Zelensky is sainted as Person of the Year.
The United States is sending billions of dollars to him, only half of which can actually be accounted for.
Well, what can we expect from the magazine who also awarded Adolf Hitler the Man of the Year Title for 1938?

I have been following the plight of disabled American veteran Kenneth Harrelson for several months now.
Harrelson was arrested in March 2021 for his part on January sixth. The VA cut off his benefits three months ago after urging from the Biden Justice Department. A month before Harrelson even went to trial.
After spending 630 days in a DC jail, under covid lockdowns the entire time, the verdict is in. Harrelson was convicted on three of the six charges but acquitted of the Seditious Conspiracy charge that the Justice Department cited to the VA as the reason for cutting his benefits.
Angel Harrelson has not had her husband’s income for three months. She has not seen her husband face-to-face since he was arrested over 630 days ago. Harrelson was denied bail and visitation.
Now, the District of Columbia has filed a civil suit against Harrelson and others.
Please help Angel by donating at GiveSendGo.com/G22ZH

So Republicans will control the House and Trump is running for President again. Now what?
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute, brought to you by Dr. Zelenko's Z-Stack. Use code LIGHTHOUSE at ZStackLife.com to supercharge your immune system before cold and flu season.
What can we hope for from a Republican controlled House of Representatives?
Well, if history is an example, not much.
Maybe instead of bills spending $2 trillion at a time, maybe they will only spend $1.5 trillion.
Government accounts for 57% of our nation's Gross Domestic Product. That means that every taxpayer works from January 1st through July 27th, just to feed our massive, bloated, overgrown government.
If we wanted to get anywhere near a balanced budget, the government would have to cut spending, all spending, by at least 25%.
The last time a president was elected to cut spending, Regan was only able to cut the growth of spending.
The uni-party in DC has created an uncontrollable monster. It no longer matters whether Democrats or Republicans are in charge. The monster will continue to be fed with your money and your liberty.

What have we learned from the recent election?
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute, brought to you by Dr. Zelenko's Z-Stack. Use code LIGHTHOUSE at ZStackLife.com to supercharge your immune system before cold and flu season.
All of the polls before Tuesday's election predicted a huge red tidal wave, but what really happened was more like a red sun shower. What does this indicate?
It could mean that polls just aren't relevant or reliable anymore.
It could mean that Republican voters took massive wins for granted and just didn't turn out to vote.
Some will say it is more proof of fraud or selection rather than elections.
I think the results show that far too many Americans put political party above their own best interests.
Polls showed that the economy and inflation were the number one priority of voters and polls also showed that voters believe Republicans are better at handling those issues.
Voters have been told for years that Republicans are racist nazis, so maybe many people won't vote for Republicans despite believing Republican candidates represent their own best interests.
After all, could you vote for Hitler because milk got expensive?

Tuesday is election day, so let's talk about American elections and democracy.
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute, brought to you by Dr. Zelenko's Z-Stack. Use code LIGHTHOUSE at ZStackLife.com to supercharge your immune system and support Freedom Fighters Foundation.
The US Constitution set up our Republic so that you and I, the citizens, only voted for our representative in the House of Representatives.
The President is elected by the Electoral College. Each state makes its own rules about how to award those electoral votes.
It wasn't until 1824, 35 years after this process was established, before the first public vote for President was even recorded.
The Senate was originally appointed by your state legislators. That changed in 1913 with the 17th Amendment. Senators are now elected by state-wide popular vote, like some sort of glorified member of the House of Representatives.
Why this basic history lesson? Because We The People need to remember how important our State House really is.
It was your state legislation who ratified the 17th Amendment. It has been since the 17th Amendment that our federal government has grown out of control and inserted itself in every aspect of our lives.
The state appointed Senate used to protect state rights and keep the federal government in check.

I bit off more than I could chew. So, I'm going to try a smaller bite.
The Liberty Minute will now be a weekly production instead of a daily grind.
I'm Peter Serefine with this week's Liberty Minute, brought to you by Cedar Mill Fine Firearms. Use code LIGHTHOUSE at cedarmillfirearms.com for firearm cases with style.
So let's get to it.
A serious problem with our nation's checks and balances system has become apparent lately. Our administrative and bureaucratic system has become too big and too slow to protect our rights.
A judge recently struck down New York City's covid vaccine mandates for public workers. Okay. That's great. The judicial system acted as a check against the executive.
Not so fast, though, or maybe I should say not fast enough. Over 2,000 people were fired because of a policy now deemed unconstitutional.
According to the Declaration of Independence, the government's primary job is to secure our rights. If it takes ten months to overturn an unjust law, then 2,000 people can be destroyed by one branch of government before another branch calls it out.
Hard-working, tax-paying citizens, deserve a much faster response to tyranny than that. We, the people, deserve a smaller, more responsive government.

Pennsylvania Democrat candidate for Senate still has obvious problems.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
I don't like the Pennsylvania Democrat candidate for Senate, John Fetterman's politics, but that is not what this is about.
John Fetterman had a stroke just before winning the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania.
Yesterday he gave his first in-person interview since the stroke. He required a closed caption screen to read the reporter's questions. Fetterman is still having trouble processing language.
His political leanings don't matter. He is currently not fit for the job of Senator.
A closed caption screen on the Senate floor, in committee, or during a debate is far less than ideal.
I wish Mr. Fetterman a full recovery, but with the election less than a month away, he just isn't ready yet.

Non-citizens get voter registration notices.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
30,000 non-citizens in Colorado received notices about voter registration. The authorities in Colorado said it was a computer glitch.
Pennsylvania and Texas have both had similar”glitches” in the past.
It seems that issuing a driver's license to non-citizens and then linking the voter registration process to the driver's license process may have some unintended consequences.
Looking at the current immigration policy, or lack of an immigration policy, one might get the idea that was the plan for Motor-Voter laws all along.
Dead people stay on the voter rolls for years. Move out of state, and you're probably still on the old rolls yourself. Now, non-citizens get notified to register too.
Elections will never be secure again until we make voter registration expire. That is the only way voter rolls will ever be cleaned and maintained.

NPR says Biden’s pot pardon will help reverse the racist enforcement of the war on drugs.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
So, some advocates of the marijuana possession pardon say the decades-old war on drugs has imprisoned black and brown people at higher rates.
That may be true, but it was Biden that championed the 1994 drug laws that disproportionately went after crack over powdered cocaine.
More importantly, with over 100,000 people dying from fentanyl poisoning last year, should marijuana conviction pardons even be on the radar?
Fentanyl is now the #1 killer of people 18-45 years old. Has anyone ever died from a marijuana overdose?
Although I agree with the Pot Pardon, I would much rather see the federal government spending its time and our money on stopping Fentanyl.

Columbus Day Liberty Minute
Happy Columbus Day!
I am Peter Serefine and this is today's Liberty Minute.
Yes, I said Columbus Day. Christopher Columbus challenged the science of his time and was right! He did not fall off the edge of a flat earth. Instead, he charted the path to the New World. A pioneer worth celebrating.
Columbus's daring journey into the unknown should be recognized as proof that science is never settled. Science should always be questioned and challenged. Anyone who says, "the science is settled" clearly does not understand the basic principles of science itself. Facts can only maintain factual status if the are routinely questioned and challenged.
To be fair, the indigenous people of the Americas deserve a celebration too. Maybe there should be a national Indigenous People Day, but it should not replace Columbus Day.

OPEC+ cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
The oil-producing nations in OPEC+ announced they are cutting oil outputs by 2 million barrels a day.
Senator Joe Manchin said the move shows that the US must emphasize American energy independence and security. Hmm, it seems like I have heard that before.
In response to the output cut, the Biden administration announced the release of 10 million more barrels from the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserves.
Gee that will cover the shortfall for five whole days. Then what? Biden has already drained the reserves to their lowest point in decades.
Biden created this problem by forcing his green agenda and is using the nation's strategic reserves as his party's campaign checkbook to attempt to bring gas prices down before next month's election.

OPEC+ is expected to announce a cut in oil production today.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
The oil producers' cartel of OPEC+ is meeting today and is expected to announce the largest cut in production since the beginning of the CoVid pandemic.
Some are forecasting a cut of a million barrels per day. That will obviously raise the price of oil and, in turn, the cost of gasoline.
Clearly, a steep increase in gas prices this close to election time would be a disaster for the Democrats, so the Biden administration has launched a full-scale pressure campaign hoping to stop a production reduction.
Remember when America was energy independent and a net exporter of energy? Ahh, the good Ole days.
If only Biden had not attacked American oil producers, stopped pipelines, ended leases, and drained the nation's strategic reserves.

Democrats want to control everything.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
Democrats in New Jersey are proposing two bills forbidding retail warehouse chains such as Costco and Sam's Club from limiting gasoline sales to members.
One lawmaker said, “I see gasoline the same as I would see food or energy bills or anything. I think it’s a public access.”
A former New Jersey governor said, “Last time I checked, that’s a commodity; what’s going on here?”
Hey geniuses, those warehouse clubs sell food too. So next, you'll demand that membership be free and open the stores to everyone.
Members pay the annual membership fee to get the lower members-only prices.
Anyone can become a member. It is not some discriminatory secret society that needs to be broken up.
For the sake of everything good in America, get the government out of business.

How absurd does woke gender ideology have to get?
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
A number of girls playing for a high school volleyball team in Vermont have been barred from using their own locker room after filing a complaint to school officials about a transgender teammate.
The dispute started after the transgender player at Randolph Union High School allegedly made an “inappropriate comment” to some girls while changing in the locker room.
School authorities replied to complaints: there is "plenty of space where students who feel uncomfortable" can change in private.
According to Vermont’s state law, students can play sports and use the locker room that corresponds to the gender with which they identify….and apparently, if a transgender student is inappropriate, too bad. The biological girls get pushed out.
Ahhh…isn't equity great?

Congress is working on another short-term continuing resolution to fund the government until December.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
For the 43rd time since 1976, Congress has failed to adopt a comprehensive federal budget for the Fiscal Year 2023 that begins Oct. 1
Let me say that another way. In the past 46 years, Congress has passed a complete and comprehensive budget on time only three times.
In 1976 the National Debt was $620 billion, which is about $3 trillion in today's money. The National Debt today is over ten times that.
Maybe passing a complete and comprehensive budget on time is one of the keys to getting a handle on the National Debt.
One thing is for sure. A 6% success rate does not inspire confidence in Congress.

Too many Americans don't realize government money is their own tax money.
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
A recent poll by YouGov on behalf of the libertarian Cato Institute said that 64% of Americans oppose Biden’s student loan foreign if it raises taxes.
The same poll also showed that 76% would oppose the plan if it would cause universities to raise their tuition and fees.
News flash! Both of those things are true.
The cost of college has skyrocketed 1200% since the federal government took over student loans, almost 1000% more than inflation.
It is also a middle school government class that used to teach that every penny the federal government spends or gives away comes from taxpayers.
Have we stopped teaching that, or has the citizenry just forgotten the government does not produce or sell anything?

What? There were FBI informants at the January 6th protest? What's next? Is the government going to say Covid came from a lab?
I'm Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
The federal government has finally admitted that at least five FBI informants were involved with the Oath Keepers at the Capitol on January 6th.
So, if there was a seditious conspiracy or insurrection planned, the FBI knew about it.
If that is the case, why weren't the police prepared? Where was the riot gear? Why wasn't the National Guard called up?
Everyone knew the protest was scheduled and expected to bring a quarter of a million people to DC.
Gee, it almost looks like the people in charge of security wanted the protest to turn violent.

California has gone completely crazy with its environmental policies.
Peter Serefine with today's Liberty Minute.
We already know California has banned the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035.
Last week, the California Public Utilities Commission unanimously voted to remove subsidies to builders who are installing gas lines for new constructions starting in 2023.
Also, last week, the California Air Resources Board approved a proposal that would ban new natural gas-fueled furnaces and water heaters in homes by 2030.
In short, California is now attacking clean-burning natural gas.
The state that has rolling blackouts every summer and tells people not to charge their electric cars is trying to eliminate every alternative to the unreliable electric grid.
California is actively trying to send itself and its residents back to the nineteenth century with no electricity and no alternatives.
