Everyone Thought This Great Dane Was Neglected, The Truth Will Shock You.

When Darla, a large Great Dane, came to Adoptadane Rescue Queensland, nearly her entire body was bleeding and covered in seemingly open sores. Full Story: Darla was only 2yrs old when she was brought to Adoptadane Rescue Queensland. She was suffering from a common, highly treatable skin condition called demodectic mange, which had covered a large percentage of her body. In what looked like a severe case of neglect, was actually unfounded. Darla's previous owners loved her very much, this was not a case of neglect, more misdiagnoses from the vets she had attended. In fact, Darla's family had gone to multiple vets for a second opinion. Unable to get the right diagnosis and treatment, Darla's health worsened. Eventually, veterinarians told her family that she would need to be "put down." Loving her too much, they reached out to Adoptadane for help. Feeling responsible and guilty for her condition, they relinquished her to the rescue asking them to save her. They did. For 6 months, Darla went without proper treatment, her health deteriorating. Within 2 months of treatment of salves, baths, medications, Darla had fully recovered and was adoptable. In fact, soon after she was deemed healthy, she was adopted by Terri who loved her until Darla's recent passing in late 2016.

Adorable, dancing teacup Chihuahua puppy is not dancing at all

Boogie Shoes, the cutest Teacup Chihuahua, always looks like he's dancing, hence the name, but he's actually shaking uncontrollably from a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia. ✿ Please subscribe to our channel so you don't miss a single PAWsitive story! ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Full Story: Boogie Shoes was turned into the shelter at 8 weeks old. The woman who dropped him off claimed to have found him in the WalMart parking lot in 110 degree heat in Palm Springs, California. While that may be true, the region is also known for back yard breeders. The shelter that Boogie was dropped off at was Palm Spring Animal Shelter. Fortunately, it was a no-kill facility that works hard to rehabilitate and re-home even special needs dog. At first, it seemed this cute 8 week old pup was dancing, but the reality was much worse. Boogie wasn't actually dancing at all. He was shaking - his motor skills and coordination were uncontrolled. It was clear to the doctors their that he had an unknown neurological condition. For now, he was on foster watch. Alicia became his foster and eventually his adopter. Alicia took Boogie to the neurologist who confirmed their fears. He had cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological condition in which the cerebellum or part of the brain did not fully develop in-utero. This condition could have been caused by genetics, a virus or malnutrition. The condition reveals itself at about six weeks of age and is permanent. While Boogie is otherwise a healthy pup, he will always have physical limitations. He can't walk on a leash, play catch or climb stairs. Even with these limitations, Alicia loves him just as he is. ✿ Follow PAWsitive on our socials: Subscribe ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Facebook ➔ http://bit.ly/PawsitiveFacebook Twitter ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveTwitter Instagram ➔ https://www.instagram.com/pawsitivechannel/ ✿ Follow Boogie Shoes Facebook ➔ https://www.facebook.com/littleboogieshoes/ Instagram ➔ http://instagram.com/littleboogieshoes Website ➔ http://www.littleboogieshoes.com/ ✿ Crew http://www.memetics.tv/ ✿ Music Purchased through Premium Beat - https://www.premiumbeat.com/ "I Need To Start Writing Things Down" by Chris Zabriskie Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License The song was not modified in any way. The odds were against Kanya and her siblings, who were living on the streets of Thailand. I received a phone call from Coastal German Shepard Rescue telling me that there was a “Swimmer Pup” who was going to be euthanized unless we got to him in time. They asked me to please hurry, pick him up, and begin treatment right away. Upon seeing the little white bundle of fur, my heart just ached to get him in my arms and to safety. I held him the whole ride home. He was so still, so quiet...I was concerned that maybe he was also deaf. This little puppy had the most amazing blue eyes I had ever seen. Once we were home, I began calling the little bundle “Baby.” Baby was so still, so quiet...first thing to do was to give him a feeding of canned puppy food mixed with goat’s milk. He was a very slow eater, not a good sign. Again, he was just so still. I immediately cleaned Baby and wrapped his chest and shoulders in a soft tee shirt wrap. I made him a nice soft, warm bed surrounded by small stuffed animal toys and laid his tiny body on his side, propped up with the soft toys. He immediately looked more comfortable. I slept beside him on the couch that night in case he needed me. Once at the Vet’s office, Baby was still so quiet, I held him close. the vet came in and assessed my little bundle. He had concern written all over his face. He told me we usually euthanize puppies with Swimmers Syndrome. I said “I know.” They can’t lift up off their chest, their legs remain splayed out to the side; and they can’t lift their head off the ground. His diagnosis was that his heart was weak, his pulse was faint. He was limp and lethargic. Not a good prospect for survival. He told me I can “try” my treatments and also suggested massage. He said that maybe in 3 months he may walk; but chances are he won't . . . if he survives. I immediately thought to myself “//I will see you in 10 days” ... although I didn't say this out loud. I took Baby home and started his Acuscope Sessions right away. Low and behold! He awoke the next morning “speaking” to me...wiggling his little body even trying to lift his limbs. I just know he was asking me ..."More please...More please I feel so much better . . . I'm alive, I'm here and I'm alive! Please don't give up on me." More Acuscope Therapy Sessions were in store for that day. Yes, I began his Therapy in the morning after we came home from the Vet visit. I did a series of Acuscope Treatments to promote nerve conductivity where the nerve signals emerge from between the Vertebrae along the Spine. I attached plates to treat the back from top to bottom. Each day there is more improvement, more movement, strength and activity. It really is amazing to witness how fast a little body responds once the nerve and muscle cells are given the help they need to awaken. Casper’s journey continues. I have decided to name him Casper...for Casper the friendly ghost. He is pure white, and absolutely stunning. So beautiful. He is active now, “speaking” a lot, communicating his joy of being able to move. He was adopted shortly after this last video by a wonderful young man. We have become email friends and Instagram friends so I can follow Casper’s progress through pictures. I am also invited to visit him when I am in town. It doesn't get much better than this. Changing a pup’s life forever. Finding him his “forever home” and watching him grow and thrive and become a happy, healthy, loving companion. ***All people, locations, photos, footage and logos have been used with express written consent from all parties.***

Dog Left in Backyard to Die Rescued Just In Time2m59s

Dog Left in Backyard to Die Rescued Just In Time

Smokey's story is about a dog that was left in a backyard to slowly die from starvation and one woman who showed true heroism by dropping everything to save him. Full Story: PAWsitive Channel and Forte Animal Rescue team up to bring this inspirational story of heroism. Darlene was getting a manicure from her usual nail technician – a woman she liked and had been visiting for years. The woman told her about her son's unwanted puppy, a dog he refused to provide food, water and shelter. Darlene assumed the technician was feeding the dog when in fact Smokey was slowly being starved to death. The manicurist finally confessed that she wanted to “put the dog down" but didn't want to pay the $200 fee to do so. Darlene, an animal lover not an animal rescuer, requested a photo of the Smokey. What she saw was an emaciated, sad dog. “Something out of a concentration camp." Darlene dropped everything and went to the technician’s home where she found Smokey, who was barely able to walk and unable to even eat the food she offered. She dropped some unkind remarks to the son who couldn't care less. When Smokey was brought to the animal hospital, he was immediately put on an IV drip where he was given round the clock fluids and proper food. His blood work showed food deprivation that spanned weeks, possibly months. His digestive system was in shock. Within a month, Smokey had gained 20 lbs, going from 40 lbs to 60lbs. Forte Animal Rescue a 501 (c)(3) based in Marina del Rey, California stepped in to help Darlene with the hospital care and bills as well as to re-home Smokey. His vet bills amounted to thousands of dollars of which Darlene and the rescue took care of. Today, not even a year later, Smokey is recovered and lives in Los Angeles with a wonderful family. He is fed. He is loved. He is home. At the Vets For 9 Months with Broken Elbows4m05s

At the Vets For 9 Months with Broken Elbows

🐶 Bella is made of true grit. Two broken elbows can't keep this Pug down! Her story will inspire you. 💕 #pawsitivestories #dogs #pugs ✿ Please subscribe to our channel so you don't miss a single PAWsitive story! ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Full Story: According to Gwenn of Pug Nation, Bella looks like she's part penguin, part seal and part Pug but in truth she's all dog and just wants hugs and kisses. Bella didn't always look this way. She was likely born from breeding. Bella did have a family but they had difficulty caring for her. When she first broke her elbow her family took her to the veterinarian who was able to fix it. He told the family to keep her confined, keeping the pressure/weight off that limb. For whatever the reason, they didn't follow these instructions and she re-broke the elbow. At some point, Bella's other elbow became broken and the veterinarian decided to keep her at the hospital to keep her confined so she could heal properly. Upon further assessment, the veterinarians realized the elbows were irreparably damaged. The only solution was a double amputation. The rehabilitation, the care, the cost were all unknowns for this family. They would not give their consent nor would they relinquish Bella to the hospital. For 9 long months, Bella resided at the hospital. It is unclear what her condition was like during those 9 months but the veterinarians themselves were at an impasse. Without the consent of the family, the veterinarians could not perform additional medical procedures. Finally, a volunteer at Pug Nation took notice of Bella and inquired. The inquiry lead to the revelation of her story and immediate action. The veterinarians were able to convince the family to relinquish her to the hospital and then the hospital to the animal rescue. Bella is now 6 years old. Pug Nation was able to find a loving foster/adopter for Bella almost immediately. Wendy considers Bella's welfare her top priority. Amazingly, after everything Bella has been through, she is incredibly sweet and has no idea that she is special needs: she barks at passing cars, begs for treats, asks for cuddles and loves going on walks - albeit she only walks with two legs instead of four. She does not let two broken elbows set her back. She is fast - whether she is waddling like a seal or running on two legs. Since filming this story in September, Bella has had her double amputation surgery and is now free from pain. She is doing well. She is still with Wendy who loves her unconditionally. Stay tuned for a follow up story of Bella in her new wheelchair. ✿ Follow PAWsitive on our socials: Subscribe ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Facebook ➔ http://bit.ly/PawsitiveFacebook Twitter ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveTwitter G+ ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveGooglePlus ✿ Special thanks to Pug Nation Website ➔ http://pugnationla.org/ Donate ➔ http://pugnationla.org/donate/ Facebook ➔ https://www.facebook.com/Pug-Nation-Rescue-of-Los-Angeles-148049835236253/?ref=br_tf Twitter ➔ https://twitter.com/PugNationRescue ✿ Crew Director: Hai-Lam Phan Producer: Dawn Poomee http://www.memetics.tv/ ✿ Music "Beauty Found" by Indigo Music, Premium Beat "John Stockton Slow Drag" by Chris Zabriskie Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License The song was not modified in any way. A year later, he is running; proof that cats truly have nine lives. #pawsitivestories #pawsitive #adoptdontshop #rescue ✿ Please subscribe to our channel so you don't miss a single PAWsitive story! Full Story: Cheri, a bottle-baby kitten specialist/foster at Cats at The Studios based in Los Angeles, California, thought she was just getting another kitten to foster. But when she laid eyes on Ace, a black and white 6 week old kitten, her heart melted. His condition was dire. Ace had been run over by a car in Downey, California and taken to the local shelter. The doctors at the shelter did an assessment and thought amputation would be the quickest solution to the injury. A volunteer from Cats at The Studios immediately "pulled" Ace from the shelter, not knowing what to do next. Cheri fostered Ace and took it upon herself to get a second, third and forth opinion. What the doctors discovered is that Ace had an underlying, inherent heart condition. He had two holes in his heart causing it to beat harder, faster than a normal heart. The prognosis was grim. He could die at any time and the doctors told her to prepare for the worst. In tears, Cheri couldn't help but fall in love with Ace. So, like many do, she became a foster failure. It has been nearly a year since filming this story and Cheri and Ace continue to do well. Today, Ace is now a proud Foster Dad to the many, many, many kittens that come through Cheri's doors. It seems both are devoted to each other and the cause of helping needy kittens. ✿ Follow PAWsitive on our socials: Subscribe ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Facebook ➔ http://bit.ly/PawsitiveFacebook Twitter ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveTwitter G+ ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveGooglePlus ✿ Special thanks to Cats at The Studios Website ➔ http://catsatthestudios.com/ Donate ➔ http://catsatthestudios.com/donate/ Facebook ➔ https://www.facebook.com/catsatthestu... Good Samaritan Walks 3 Miles to Save Dog Tied To Pole

Joey was tied to a pole then abandoned. An unlikely rescuer would do whatever it took to save his life. Full Story: PAWsitive Channel and Forte Animal Rescue team up to bring to light this incredible story of selflessness. Lisa Snyder had fallen on hard times when she discovered Joey, a sweet Pointer mix that was tied to a tree and abandoned in Point Fermin Park in San Pedro, CA. Lisa was living in her inoperable van with her three cats. She barely had enough to survive herself, when she came across Joey. But being an animal lover and a person of faith, she knew she had to help. Lisa called the authorities, the shelter, anyone she could think of to pick up the dog but it was late and no one could make it out. The shelter suggested she drop off the dog. Lisa set off on a three-mile walk to the animal shelter. Her various medical conditions made the walk painful and forced her walk to slow. In the rush, she had forgotten her jacket and her walking stick. What should have taken an hour took all night in the rain and cold. By morning, she had made it safely to the shelter where Joey was turned in. From there, Forte Animal Rescue stepped in and provided the medical and adoption resources to re-home Joey, who is now happy, healthy and living out the rest of his doggy days with his 4 year old best friend. The community of San Pedro heard about Lisa’s selflessness and gave her a gift of their own: a $3500 thank you. Homeless man gives up injured dog to the shelter who makes an incredible recovery

He told Sheba, "I love you. This is the best thing that I can do for you right now." Then he kissed her and left. #pawsitive @EastBaySPCA ✿ Please subscribe to our channel so you don't miss a single PAWsitive story! ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveSubscribe Full Story: A somewhat disheveled man rode his bike to the East Bay SPCA located in Oakland, California. Running beside him on a leash was Sheba, a black Labrador/Shepherd mix. She was limping on her left front leg. While she may have been in pain, she was so good-natured that she did not show it. The man knew his dog better. He told the employees at East Bay what had happened - she had got into a dog fight. It wasn't intentional - it was an accident and now she was hurt and it was getting worse. Sheba's leg was bandaged but it was damp, her leg was swollen and it was starting to smell. Signs of a serious infection. He told them he could not afford the medical care for her. East Bay offered to take her in and help her but that would mean giving her up. He knelt down in front of her and said, "This is the best that I can do for you right now." He pet her, then he left. Sheba was immediately assessed and underneath the bandage were multiple fractures in the radius and ulna. To repair the injury would mean a long and potentially painful recovery. The doctors decided to amputate her leg. According to Gwen Gadd DVM, a staff veterinarian, Sheba was on the road to recovery with nothing to hold her back. Dr. Gadd was right. Gracie is now in a loving home with Cecily and her husband. Sheba, now Gracie, doesn't even realize she has three legs. She is fast. They are taught how to cook, clean, do laundry, how to take the bus or use the computer -- everything you would need to live independently. But even after being with Mychal's for years, Jordan was missing something. When Mychal's partnered up with Adopt & Shop a "Pet Store With Purpose" located in Culver City, CA, Jordan finally opened herself up. Jordan has an intrinsic fondness for black cats. Every time she sees a black cat she can't help but fall in love. Words fall from lips as though she has been talking all along. "Kitty kitty kitty." A baby goat was found near a busy street. You won't want to miss how this story ends.

From wandering the streets to being in the lap of goat luxury. #babyanimals #cute #goats Harley, the baby goat (AKA kid,) was found near a busy road and taken to animal control. When she was not claimed, the Good Samaritan who found her asked Hooves & Paws Animal Rescue, located in Little Rock, California, if they could take her. Harley is now happily living among her new family and friends at Hooves and Paws. Michele, the co-founder of the rescue, did try to reach the original owners but they did not respond. Likely, Harley was destined for the goat meat trade as denoted by the ear tag. Why she was wandering the streets remains unclear. According to Michele, she feels the owner likely dumped her because Harley is a runt and not worth the feed. Stray dog with 4 pound mass on neck gets life-saving surgery2m57s

Stray dog with 4 pound mass on neck gets life-saving surgery

Please note: This video may be graphic to some underage viewers. Agnes was found wandering the streets of Karditsa, Greece for 6 months with a massive growth on her neck. Greek Animal Rescue found her and provided her with the medical attention and loving home she needed. Full Story: For at least 6 months, Agnes, a 7 year old mixed-breed dog was living on the streets. Villagers in Karditsa, Greece have seen her for those 6 months: some have fed her, others have tried scaring her, chasing her away with sticks and firing guns. What everyone remembers most about Agnes was the large mass hanging from her neck. In fact, it was so large that it pulled her head down and made her ear hang at an abnormal angle. Likely, she was in constant pain. Finally, someone from the village called Greek Animal Rescue (GAR) in hopes of saving her. Ermioni and her team of rescuers went out at night and found Agnes. At first, Agnes was shy - wary of the rescuers. But when their intentions were clear, Agnes welcomed the help. She was taken to a local veterinarian where she was immediately treated. They discovered multiple gun shot wounds and additional tumors in her breasts. But the most important surgery for now would be the removal of the 4 lb tumor. When the tumor was removed, Agnes was able to lift her head and her ears immediately went back to their normal position. Within an additional three months and further surgeries, Agnes had recovered fully. The mass that had once weighed her down was gone. Today, Agnes is living in England with a family that loves her. She has siblings to play with and a yard to call her own. ✿ Follow PAWsitive on our socials: Facebook ➔ http://bit.ly/PawsitiveFacebook Twitter ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveTwitter G+ ➔ http://bit.ly/PAWsitiveGooglePlus ✿ Special thanks to Greek Animal Rescue Website ➔ http://greekanimalrescue.com/ Donate ➔ http://greekanimalrescue.com/helpanddonations Facebook ➔ https://www.facebook.com/greekanimalrescue Twitter ➔ https://twitter.com/GARanimalrescue ✿ Crew Director: Hai-Lam Phan Producer: Dawn Poomee https://pawsitivestories.wordpress.com/ ✿ Music provided by Friday Morning Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Creative Commons Attribution music by Josh Woodward The song was not modified in any way.
