Just a straight run, no cuts. Gaining confidence, control and speed. It feels good to utilize my entire body to control the kayak. It wasn't long ago that I felt the river was daunting, but I'm quickly getting a feel for it, while maintaining a healthy sense of respect for the river and it's potential dangers.

Exploring the South Fork Edisto swamp while the river is high.

I launched from Savannah River Keeper and paddled about 4 miles upstream, then to the left was a cool stream that led to lots of turtles, some alligators and a nice little waterfall.

It doesn't get much better than this... Get outside and enjoy every minute you can.

Before you know it, you no longer exist.

Just dig until you find yourself. There are many benefits to digging, even if you just cover it back up. Give it a try and you'll walk away with something new. Maybe a new perspective, new ideas, a new landscape. Just start digging and you'll find yourself or at least something that inspires. Just keep digging until you find yourself.

This was the most incredible sunrise I've seen and filmed to date. I arrived at the World's Edge entrance while it was still dark and hiked to the lookout point. I setup my tripod and waited. It was so gorgeous that I had to force myself to get what little video I recorded because I didn't want to look away and see it through such a small screen. Like always, the video doesn't even come close to showing the true beauty. If you find yourself near Hendersonville NC, I encourage you to stop and watch a sunrise from World's Edge. Locals will know where it is.

I put in at Camp Barstow and explored the Clouds Creek inlet. Very cool stream to explore.

Kayaked up Beaverdam Creek as far as I could before it became too shallow. Really cool place back up in there. I'll be going back and fishing that little hole above the natural dam.

Public boat ramp on Aiken State Park rd, right near the state park. There's not much room for parking here, but a nice little place to put in. The river is pretty wide, but I was exploring the swampy area.

It's a clown world in 2021.

My first kayaking adventure at Lake Murray, South Carolina. It was awesome! Although, I think I still prefer the river, mostly because there aren't any waves and fewer boats. Would be awesome with friends!
