BLEEPED: Heart-stopping dash-cam video shows red light runner's amazing near miss

Shocking dash-cam vehicle captured in the north-east of England shows the moment a "boy racer" who ran a red light at high-speed narrowly avoided a smash with another vehicle. In video filmed on Wednesday in Teesside Park shopping and leisure complex in Stockton-on-Tees, a white car, which appears to be a Honda Civic, can be heard speeding up from behind. The dash-cam vehicle, driven by local man Terry Fawcett, and waiting at a red light, captures the moment the white car ignores the red light and nearly crashes with another vehicle that has started to move forward. "Oh! F*** me!" a female passenger screams as the white car speeds past. "He was fucking close there, did you see that?" According to Fawcett, the park is something of a mecca for "wannabe boy racers" who gather at the site. "As we were at the lights waiting to turn right we could here an exhaust getting louder," he explains. "How no-one was killed, I don't know! Something has to be done about the idiots in Teesside Park on a night." He adds: "There were loads of them, doing donuts and racing in the car park." Australian fan performs ‘shoey’ from moon boot after Australia draw with Denmark

This Australian fan performed a “shoey” – pouring a beer into a shoe and drinking it – after Australia drew with Denmark in the World Cup. In footage filmed after the match in Samara on Thursday, the unknown man takes off his moon boot – used for foot injuries – and deposits a beer into it before sipping it out of the open foot-hole. The crowd of brightly-coloured Australians cheer him on. The 1-1 draw with group C hopefuls Denmark came after Mile Jedinak cancelled out Christian Eriksen's first-half goal and kept Australia in the race to make it past the group stages of the tournament in Russia. But outside of the stadium, footage posted on social media showed Australian supporters clashing with security amid their raucous celebrations. ++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED++

India's demand for infrastructure is killing the country's elephants3m03s

India's demand for infrastructure is killing the country's elephants

In eastern India's Odisha state, the dwindling elephant population is constantly under threat from a country undergoing rapid industrialisation. One threat is from the country's railways. Video from April seen here shows four elephants - including a baby -that were tragically killed in an instant by a speeding train in Jharsuguda. It's a sad sign of the wider conflict between the state's need for infrastructure and the elephant population in the area. This particular tragedy happened in the state's Jharsugada district at around 3:30am. This video filmed about five hours later shows the slain elephants lying on the train tracks, and later removed, as onlookers crowded around the scene. According to animal NGO Elephant Family, Odisha is one of the largest areas of habitat for elephants in India. In the past decade, rapid industrialisation has created a demand for new infrastructure, including open wells, mines and railways - all posing an active threat to the elephant population. According to one report, train collisions in India have killed 266 elephants from 1987 to July 2017, citing the Wildlife Trust of India.

Dog refuses to pay attention to owner during #whatthefluff prank

++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED++ The #whatthefluffchallenge prank, which involves owners olding up a sheet, stepping out of view and letting the sheet fall to the floor, is making its round on social media. Inspired by other dogs' reactions, this owner decided to test it out on her dog, Sugar – but she just couldn't care less. In the video, Keely Nicole McCool is holding a sheet in front of her and trying to get Sugar's attention. The dog is wholly uninterested and doesn't even look at her, insisting on facing away and minding her own business instead. McCool collapses into laughter at her hilariously oblivious dog, who then lays down to further emphasise her lack of interest in the prank. Dogs who have been filmed reacting to the viral prank fall largely into two categories: either extremely confused at their owners' sudden disappearance and frantically looking around for them, or entirely uninterested in the whole thing. Needless to say, Sugar heads this second group!

Parents-to-be send son on scavenger hunt for baby gender reveal

These adorable parents thought it would be fun to send their son on a scavenger hunt to find out the gender of the new family member. The footage, captured at a home on May 19 in California, shows 4-year-old Jaxon going after several clues hidden around the house that his relatives help him to read. The last clue leads the boy to a cake in the oven that reveals the gender of his new sibling. When Jaxon’s mother cuts the cake, the whole family erupts in joy. ''You are going to have a baby girl,'' a relative tells Jaxon who can not hide his happiness. Jaxon’s dad writes:''My wife wanted to do something special for the gender announcement of our baby girl and she heard about gender reveal scavenger hunts. ''It was really a way to actually involve our son and our family, instead of just making an announcement when we gathered as a family. ''My wife, Jamie, came up with all of the clues herself and just hid them around the house, making sure each person attending had a clue to read. ''Jaxon really enjoyed the process as it made him feel special. It was really memorable for the whole family.''

Rescuers release 18 baby cobras in the wild after two months of conservation efforts

This is the moment 18 baby cobras are released in the wild marking a successful end of nearly two months of conservation effort. Snake Helpline, an animal welfare organisation in Bhubaneswar, India, had rescued a pregnant cobra from a construction site on April 27. The mother cobra had been released in its natural habitat after it had laid 23 eggs. “Eighteen of these eggs hatched on June 18 and 19 after an incubation period of 54 to 55 days. Five eggs were damaged by the extremely fluctuating weather conditions in Odisha,” said Subhendu Mallik, Secretary of Snake Helpline. The members of Snake Helpline took the 18 hatchlings to a perennial water body in a protected forest area and released them. The baby cobras were placed in a plastic tub, which was placed on a large stone on the pond. Eager to get away, a few snakes jumped into the water body and swam away only to return to the dry land after a while. Some of them could be seen enjoying their first contact with the cold water and taking leisurely sips. Though excellent swimmers, cobras are terrestrial reptiles. A few sloppy snakes had to be removed with a stick and set free. Baby cobras can be kept together as they initially survive on the fat in their skin and do not eat for 7 to 8 days. It is only after they shed their first skin they start looking for food – frogs, insects, small rodents. A few of the will themselves fall prey to predators such as mongoose, birds and monitors, said Mallik. “I hope that at least 50% of them will survive as this is a protected area," he added.

"Only non-white passengers were asked to show documentation," Larson told Newsflare. Larson also blamed the coach company for its complicity. " Concord Coach is a private transportation company with no obligation to comply and cooperate with CBP. They chose to allow these checkpoints," he said. "If Concord Coach doesn't feel obligated to protect its customers from racially-discriminatory harassment, customers have the right to know that."
