The American Flyer electric whistle box has classic tube technology in it. There is one tube, a 117P7.. this video shows you how to test it in a tube tester.

A new prototype demonstrated that works on original AF split universal motors, as well as newer can motors. Device includes the lock switch that makes it work only in forward, or shift for the traditional 4 phase mode.. forward, neutral, reverse, neutral.

American Flyer Electronic Reverser works for can motors and original universal motors. Four phase like the original mechanical reverser.

The Rectiformer uses a vacuum tube that is pricey to get.. modify your Rectiformer with diodes to make it operate without the tube.. but you can leave the tube in the socket to make it look right. Also replaced the line cord with detailed instructions.

The first video of an experiment where a better lighting scheme is sought for American Flyer passenger cars. The original is nostalgic, but there are much much better ways to do this today.

Doing some tests on the instrument cluster conversion for the Fiero.. checking analog inputs and showing how the setup works.

Larry and I worked on the lighting for the 650, and tested it in comparison to his (654?) car. We added the copper straps to the trucks to make better contact, and Larry cleaned the wheels well. The results were almost no flicker and even lighting.

A friend of a friend needed some help.. he had been given a spare light bar from way back when the series was still being produced.. and had let it sit all these years. I added electronics to make it work.. and try to give basic measurements to help replicate.
