While my video thumbnail hides the scars from my wife's year long battle with Ovarian Cancer, her smile reveals the incredible spirit, joy and happiness that Gracie, our amazing, WILD Blue Jay brought, and continues to bring to my wife's life, and that of my family. Gracie is our guardian angel, and I bet if you knew the story you would believe so, too. In the spring of 2015, Dina and my 6 year old daughter, Alyssa found him, helpless beneath the tall oak tree outside of our home. He was just days old and there was no mommy bird in sight, so they brought him inside. Together as a family, we helped him become strong to prepare him for his released back to the wild almost 6 weeks later, and he returned to us. While remaining a wild Blue Jay, Gracie came and spent time with us each day, and our bond grew stronger. As 2016 began, Dina was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and was about to start the fight for her life.
