Bored 16-Year-Old Builds His Own Roller Coaster

Have you ever dreamed as a kid of having your own roller-coaster? Logan Moore, a teenager from Kentucky made his dream come true and built his own roller-coaster in his backyard. The story started after he took a carpentry lesson. "I took a class in carpentry class in school and I immediately fell in love with it." He was always fascinated with roller coasters, researching them and looking them up on the internet. After finding some unused wood and piping in his backyard he started building one. He had everything in his had "I didn’t write it down, on no piece of paper. I just completely thought about it in my head." He built it completely by himself and revealed that the construction was a time consuming process, taking about two months. During the summer holidays, he would get up at 8am and working till 11pm. He continued working on school days, until late in the evening. For him and his friends too, riding it was a lot of fun. "I love riding it, My friends have rode it. They think it’s unbelievable." The tallest point on the roller-coaster is 8.5ft and there is a winch connected to the seat which brings you up to the top. Its top speed is 12-13 mph. He says "This is the second coaster I have built. The first one was smaller and I didn’t like it so I tore it down and started again. I like this one a lot more."

Trained Pilots Struggle To Land Planes In Strong Winds 1m32s

Trained Pilots Struggle To Land Planes In Strong Winds

This stomach-churning video shows three packed passenger jets weaving from side to side as they perform some incredibly wobbly landings in windy weather. The frightening footage of the planes swaying as they battle through 44mph winds to touchdown at Leeds Bradford Airport makes for nervous viewing for any flyers. Professional photographer Charlotte Graham captured the nauseating video of the series of shaky landings at the airport, capturing three jets make it to ground on the same afternoon. Plane landings don’t always go as smoothly as passengers would like because turbulence can often lead to the aircraft landing with a bang, or bouncing on the ground before reaching a full stop. Watch as planes are struggling to land, battling intense winds, rising up and down. It is evident that planes are trying to land, but the weather conditions are hard to handle. Dramatic footage shows as aircrafts are being buffeted heavily by the bad weather conditions, struggling to come into land. For nervous fliers, crosswind landings can be terrifying, but pilots receive thorough training on how to perform them. Footage shows a number of planes shaking in high winds as they came in to make their jittery landings. I bet passengers flying in these aircrafts have had to reach for their sick bags. While crosswinds appear dangerous, they are an everyday occurrence for trained pilots landing on windy surfaces. They say that high winds are not dangerous but can certainly be inconvenient, especially if the wind direction is across the runway. All pilots go through a training on how to land in high crosswind conditions and practice the aircraft’s limits on a simulator. When any new aircraft is certified to carry passengers it comes with a published crosswind limit, which is the maximum that has been demonstrated by a test pilot during the certification process. If the wind is outside that limit the crew will have to take the aircraft to an alternate airport where the wind is within limits, which means a runway that has less of a crosswind component. In practice, the wind is rarely aligned fully with the runway so there is always a slight crosswind to deal with, it is just the amount of it that varies.

Parents Prank Their Kids With Elf Outside The Front Door51s

Parents Prank Their Kids With Elf Outside The Front Door

Sometimes surprising your kids can turn into a creepy and scary experience, as children imagination can start working in a completely wrong way. Seeing elves close to the Christmas tree is a common thing for every child, but when it suddenly appears hanging on the front door, it can be frightening for the kids, but hilarious for the parents or whoever is pulling the prank. Suzanne Rooney and her husband decided to “call” Santa’s elves and invite them earlier this year in their house in Portadown, Northern Ireland. Only this act of pranking their kids Kurtis, Jessica and Rhys did not come out as planned. Mom calls Kurtis and tells him to check who is in front of their home. He goes at the front door and is met with a shock as he sees an elf peering trough the door. Then starts the hysteria… Kurtis is overcome with emotions, instantly gets spooked and starts shouting to his siblings to come there. He bursts into tears while staring at the festive visitors before finally opening the door and shouting “there’s three, there’s three”. His mom Suzanne said: “When Kurtis started screaming I did laugh as I knew he wasn’t scared. Kurtis has never reacted like this before as I had an elf for the first-time last year and they loved it. He is not scared of them at all after the video. I took them in and he was laughing and holding them. I thought he would have opened the door and told his brother and sister to come and see.” Luckily now the kids have recovered from this “trauma” and are looking forward to Christmas and opening their presents.

Cat Attacks Letters To Check Them For Spam14s

Cat Attacks Letters To Check Them For Spam

Usually dogs are the protective ones, but sometimes even cats can surprise. A postman can be a cat’s home’s enemy. Apparently, the mailman in this video is a "scary" one, so the cat needs to protect his owners and check all the letters and brochures he brings to his house. Jerry the tabby is a seven-year-old cat that definitely is more defensive than a dog. Anything that is being sent through the door must pass through Jerry's paws and than be delivered to the owner. This feline turns into “postman cat” whenever he hears the mail slot rattle. The second he hears any movement coming from it, he jumps out of his favorite spot by the windowsill and attacks it before it can touch the floor. After he checks it all and confirms that there is no threat, he happily leaves the post lying around. This means that his owner now has the permission to open the letters. Jerry's owner, Vicky Cook, who has had him since he was an eight-week-old kitten, says that he watches intently for the postman from his windowsill spot every day. As soon as the cat sees the postman approaching from next door, Jerry jumps at the door and starts whacking the letters as they enter through the mail slot. Vicky's father, West Midlands, said: "Jerry is very different to any other cat I know. At first I didn't think what he was doing was anything strange, but then my daughter spotted it one day and asked me what on earth he was doing. She was laughing so much and filmed him so my colleagues at work could enjoy it too. I have no idea where he got the behavior from. He's normally really quite lazy." This routine of his has started about six months ago. Maybe he thought that attacking the mail and checking whether there is any spam is a useful way of spending his time.
