Still Creek Being Polluted Where Salmon Are Spawning
November 9, 2013 An unknown substance is being released into Still Creek where Chum Salmon can visibally be seen. Recently media has been reporting the Salmons return since a fish-way was installed two years ago. It's been 80 years since the creek has seen these fish spawning since the Cariboo Dam was built in 1913 which had prevented the Salmon from returning in this creek.
If I had to guess what the unknown substance is, I would guess that it could be white paint that has been diluted by the water. As a naturalist, I do appreciate wildlife and encourage others to do their part in ensuring our environment remains safe for generations to come. Please help by keeping our Streams and Creeks healthy.
