On May 6th 2014, nine Beagle dogs were rescued from a laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the story of their rescue and and their first time seeing daylight and grass.

Beagle Freedom Project rescued nine beagles that spent their entire lives in cages. These dogs have been subject to laboratory and product testing since they could remember about themselves, but this was the day it all stopped! Until this day, these beagles had never known a kind touch, been loved or felt safe, but their lives were about to change forever.

Each of the dogs’ federal ID number were removed and they were given names, something they have been denied their entire lives.

The Beagles were then each taken, by their rescuers’ hands, to the Beagle Freedom Project yard, where they were left to experience the outside world for the first time, free of the cages. The rescuers did not know what to expect when they released the dogs to roam and how they would react to each other.

To everyone's delight, the Beagles all loved the outdoors and began running in the yard. There isn’t a more satisfying feeling than to see rescued animals experience freedom for the first time!
