One day, a drifter convinces Bill that he is a Texan and should herd longhorn cattle. Bill becomes a legend after defeating a giant rattlesnake, taming a wild horse named Lightning, and teaching cowboys how to lasso a bull. He marries Slewfoot Sue, and during their wedding ceremony, Sue is bucked off Lightning and ends up in the sky. Pecos Bill lassos a tornado to rescue her, and they eventually land on his family's wagon, leading to a family reunion. -
