Adorable otter looks like a maniac when eating

People love otters! And how could they not?! I mean, otters are some of the most adorable animals in the world! They just make you want to snuggle with them!! However, that would probably be a very bad idea… otters are super cute, that's a fact, but that doesn't mean they are cute all the time. Otters are carnivores; they eat mainly fish, but also crustaceans, insects, amphibians and molluscs, so they must have specialized teeth for it… have you ever seen an otter eating?! It looks more like a maniac than the fluffy animal we're used to seeing! A bite like that can chop off a finger, so I would refrain from trying to pet an otter if I were you! The animal in the video had to be rescued at a young age, and it was rehabilitated at an otter center, where it now lives. Although it is very used to people feeding it, its wild nature remains. The Neotropical Otter (Lontra longicaudis) is a river otter native to South and Central America. There are three recognized subspecies of Neotropical Otters: Lontra longicaudis annectens, Lontra longicaudis enudris, and Lontra longicaudis longicaudis. However, this classification is still uncertain, and there are three other possible subspecies: Lontra longicaudis colombiana, Lontra longicaudis incarum, and Lontra longicaudis raferrous. They share the Lontra genus with the North American River Otter (Lontra canadensis), the Southern River Otter (Lontra provocax), the Marine Otter (Lontra feline), and the extinct Weir's Otter (Lontra weiri). Otters belong to the very diverse Mustelidae family, the largest family in the order Carnivora, along with weasels, badgers, martens, mink, wolverine, tayra, grisons, polecats, fisher, and ferret-badgers. In spite of the varieties, all members are short-legged, have round ears and a thick fur. Next time you want to keep an otter as a pet, remember this video! Otters are wild animals, and should remain like that!

Adorable baby coatis curiously investigate camera1m05s

Adorable baby coatis curiously investigate camera

Coatis are beautiful and furry little creatures that look like a cross between a long nosed raccoon and a teddy bear. They are common in Central and South America, especially near resorts where human food and scraps can easily be found. They are a delight to tourists who love to take pictures and video these curious little animals. They are also relatively tame and unlikely to run away from people who watch from a careful distance. These coati babies appeared every morning and every evening from a patch of forest beside a resort in Mexico. They carefully combed the grass and shrubs for insects, scraps, seeds, or any other kind of food that they could find. A camera mounted in the grass and a piece of boiled egg left in front became an instant hit. The first baby in the group followed his nose right to it and devoured it with enthusiasm. Every so often, the baby coati looked at the camera with curiosity. He likely had never seen a GoPro in the grass and didn't know what to make of it. Eventually, after finishing most of his meal, he decided to come over and have a look. And then a sniff. And then he tried licking the camera. He seems to have smeared a little egg yolk on the lens and the top of the camera because he started licking at it like it was really tasty. Then the lens became quite smeared and blurry. His curiosity gave us a close up look at his adorable little face, as well as his teeth and his tongue. Even the little slurping sounds are adorable. Before long, this little coati was joined by his brother and he also had to have a close inspection. Coatis are naturally curious creatures that explore their world with their mouths and also with their tiny little paws. Their hand have surprising dexterity and they handle the camera and nibble it until it tips over in the grass. It continues to film as the coatis stand over the camera and continue to play with it in the most adorable manner.

Wild Kangaroo Caught Going For Swim In The Ocean20s

Wild Kangaroo Caught Going For Swim In The Ocean

This video of a wild kangaroo, caught unawares on film, swimming in the ocean off the coast of Queensland, Australia, may just be one of the funniest things you’ll see all day! While it’s well known that kangaroos can make fearsome boxers—and, of course, their pogo-stick prowess when it comes to hopping is well documented—who knew that they also enjoyed cooling off in the water when the mercury climbs into the upper digits? Kangaroos—they’re just like us! What makes this video even more endearing is the way this kangaroo hops ever-so-casually out of the water once his dip is finished, completely oblivious to anyone around him, or to those of us watching with envy (because an ocean dip sounds pretty awesome right about now!) around the world on our computers and smart phones. In a world filled with hilarious videos of dogs, cats, horses, and even chickens doing sweet, wacky, and adorable things, kangaroo videos are pretty rare, which makes this one a definite keeper. Actually, now that we’re thinking about it, this may be the very first meme-worthy video of a kangaroo that we’ve ever seen! That being the case, we recommend bookmarking this page so you can visit it over and over whenever you need a break in your day, a hearty good laugh—or just for those moments, when you’re toiling in the office, imagining how nice it would be to loll on a beach instead, and are looking for someone to live vicariously through. We know that the next time we’re stuck at home in the middle of a snowstorm on a cold winter’s day, wishing we could feel the warmth of the sunshine on our face and the sand between our toes while we inhale the salty sweet smell of the ocean, we’ll think with envy of this intrepid marsupial, beaching it up like a boss and living a life we can only dream of. If you know anyone who loves kangaroos (and that probably applies to most of us—even if we don’t know it until we see adorable videos like this one!), we definitely recommend that you forward this along without losing another second. That is, if you can stop watching it long enough to hit the “share” button! Which is probably easier said than done. Because this is a video of a kangaroo . Swimming in the ocean . How often does something like that come along?

Friendly ground squirrels come above ground for treats33s

Friendly ground squirrels come above ground for treats

Visiting a provincial park called E.C Manning in British Columbia, Brent and Elsa wanted to see if the tradition of Groundhog Day was going to hold true. The Groundhog Day celebration is a tradition that says that if a hibernating animal, generally following a groundhog, casts a shadow on February 2, winter and cold weather will last another six weeks. Taking along a few vegetable snacks for the furry friends made for some fun. Punxsutawney Phil is the name of a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. In the area of Punxsutawney Phil’s temporary burrow there is an annual festive ceremony of food and music awaiting Phil to emerge from his burrow. In anticipation of him coming from below ground, to whether he sees his shadow or not, locals gather for some great fun. According to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter-like weather. If Phil does not see his shadow, he has predicted an "early spring". In Canada and the United States, the Groundhog Day celebration has been celebrated since 1887. Punxsutawney Phil became an international celebrity thanks to the 1993 movie Groundhog Day which starred Bill Murray. During the rest of the year before and after the Groundhog Day ceremony, the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club Inner Circle, takes care of Phil at a specific club location. On this day that Brent and Elsa visited their furry ground squirrel friends the sun disappeared and snow began to fall. Becoming more involved in gathering snacks the ground squirrels forgot about checking for their shadow…on with six weeks more of cold weather.

Samoyed Puppy Adorably Befriends Herd Of Cows15s

Samoyed Puppy Adorably Befriends Herd Of Cows

This video of a sweet Samoyed puppy befriending a herd of cows is too adorable for words! Samoyeds were originally bred in harsh climates for the specific purpose of herding cows and other livestock—and also to perform other farm-needed functions, since keeping multiple working animals in unforgiving terrain is easier said than done. These days, though, Sammys are no longer the Swiss army knives of dogs, and will generally only fall back on their working class roots in order to please their humans, or out of a deep-seated instinct to fulfill their original working dog destiny. Truth be told, most of them these days prefer lolling about with their adoring humans, getting their lustrous white coats brushed and fussed over until they shine with a gorgeous high gloss. Clearly the Samoyed in this video, however, retains some ancestral memory of his original purpose, and he’s taking to these curious cows like a duck takes to water. The cows also seem more than willing to befriend this eager pup (although, being older and fully mature, they’re understandably a bit more reserved), and the whole thing makes for a spectacle that’s as heartwarming as it is entirely entertaining. There’s very little in life as endearing as inter-species friendships, which is probably why so many humans love watching our four-legged friends on camera in the first place. If you’re looking for some reassurance, in these topsy turvy times in which we live, that it’s possible to form friendships that bridge the divide in spite of differences, then look no further than this video! It also makes for an excellent escape into daydreams involving a simpler life—one lived on a farm , among nature, with lots of friendly animals who are also friends with each other. Mostly, though, it’s just incredibly sweet to watch. If you haven’t hit the Play button yet, what are you waiting for? You deserve a little break in your day! So hit the Play button now—and also be sure you’ve got your volume turned up just enough to catch the sound of soft breezes, tranquil moos, and canine curiosity, which are on full display. It’s well worth it! Don’t forget to share this one with someone you love who also loves dogs , and adorable videos of dogs, and *especially* anyone who loves videos of dogs making unconventional friends in unexpected places. We know they’ll thank you for it!

Loving Mother Cow Shows Protective Nature for Her Newborn Calf59s

Loving Mother Cow Shows Protective Nature for Her Newborn Calf

Flo is a wonderful and good-natured cow who lives on a beautiful farm in Millbrook, Ontario. Referred to as an ethical farm, the animals here roam freely on lush, green pastures with rolling hills and ponds for drinking water. It is surrounded by forest and corn fields and the air is fresh and clean. The farmers live here as well, and their house sits on a hill overlooking the pastures and the cows as they graze happily. The farmers do not raise veal and the calves are allowed to nurse and stay with their mothers as nature intended. Flo has just given birth to a beautiful and healthy young male calf. He was born on this sunny and warm spring day at the side of the meadow. Unfortunately, her little calf slid under the electric fence in the moments after he was born and he was stuck on the other side, unable to get to his mother to nurse. This same fence that is designed to keep out predators and to keep the cows from wandering out onto the road was now keeping a mother and her baby apart. A passing motorist stopped at the side of the meadow to get a few pictures and video of the other cows in the pond, and he noticed Flo's distress. He was eventually able to understand that she was upset about her calf outside the fence and he walked over to the long grass where it lay. He managed to push the calf back under the fence to join his mother, but they both received a few mild shocks in the effort. For this reason, the calf was named "Sparky". As Sparky and Flo wandered through the meadow, he nursed happily and Flo grazed contentedly. Flo had demonstrated an impressive emotional attachment to the calf, evident by her distress at being apart, as well as an impressive amount of intellect in being able to show the motorist that she needed help. Now, after being reunited, Flo also shows a protective and motherly side of her nature as she clearly demonstrates that she is willing to intervene firmly when other cows come too close to her new baby. Cows are far smarter than we realize, and their capacity for emotion is more than we give them credit for. Flo clearly shows us that a mother's love is not just for humans, it's something that cows, and other animals, feel too.

It is often said, "Having a parrot is much like raising a 2 or 3 year old child for the rest of your life!"

Mother shows incredible tolerance when stranger cuddles her foal

Fling is an amazing horse with a beautiful personality. She is calm and patient, and remarkably trusting of the humans around her. But her display of patience on this day was nothing short of unbelievable. Fling lives on a beautiful farm near Peterborough, Ontario, run by Ali and her husband. She had given birth to Felix three weeks earlier, and not surprisingly, he was also a horse with an exceptional personality. Spunky and energetic, he plays enthusiastically in the sunshine each day and runs and bounces in the meadow. He is as friendly and trusting of humans as his mother is. He loves new visitors and he will greet each one happily. But today would be an unusual day for Felix and for everybody at the farm. Ali had invited her friend, Dave to meet Fling and Felix. Dave is a big animal lover with a soft spot for horses but he had never met a foal. Ali was sure that the two would hit it off and she knew all about the joy that horses can bring to everyone. Felix greeted Dave with enthusiasm and Fling sniffed him cautiously. Felix was in the mood to play and he showed Dave how fast his new legs could carry him around the barnyard. After an hour or two of playing chasing each other, Fling sat down on a mat of hay, as if he was out of steam. Dave sat down beside him, watching Fling to make sure she was okay with this. Amazingly, Fling grazed nearby and acted as if everything was perfectly alright with her. Even more surprisingly, Felix rolled onto his back and his side and acted like a giant dog who wanted a belly rub. He leaned on Dave and nuzzled affectionately. Dave and Ali were surprised that Fling showed no sign of concern. She munched away happily on hay and grass and wandered around them. Ali texted Felix’ owner, Shauna about what was going on, and she sent him a picture. All three were in awe over how snugly and playful Felix was and Ali commented that she had never seen anything like this in all the years that she had raised horses. Shauna was understandably jealous. For Dave, the biggest surprise in all of this is that Fling, a new and protective mother would allow a stranger to get on the ground and snuggle with her new baby. Her patience and acceptance was very impressive. You can see the joy on Dave’s face and hear it in his voice. This was a day that he would never forget.

Trio of squirrels hold onto each other to keep warm

The Kruger National Park is one of the most visited wilderness parks in Africa. Tourists flock to the park every year to see the great variety of African wildlife living in their natural environment and habitats. The most sought after animals are called the big five and consists of lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant. While these big animals steal the show, there are many other smaller species of wildlife to be seen that can add to a great safari experience. It is the smaller animals that people tend to miss and overlook while on their search for the more popular and bigger animals. We went on a recent safari in the park and the weather turned for the worse. It was cloudy and miserably cold. On days like these it is usually difficult to spot any animals as they tend to lie down and not move. We had to make the best of the situation and still went out on safari to see what we can find. While braving the cold safari on an open game viewer vehicle, our guide suddenly noticed a large fury ball up in a dead tree. We drove closer to see what it was. To our amazement we came across the most adorable sight. Three cute squirrels were holding onto each other to keep warm while the cold wind was blowing. Such caring and loving behavior by the squirrels made for heart-warming viewing. The squirrels used this snuggle time for mutual grooming which is an important part in strengthening their family bonds. The video shows how much they do enjoy these grooming sessions with armpits, eyes, ears and the rest of the body thoroughly check for any irritating parasites. The squirrels would then rotate positions, giving each one a chance to be groomed while holding onto each other to keep warm at the same time. We never anticipated for squirrels to deliver such an amazing wildlife sighting and we were glad we made the effort to go out on safari during the unpleasant weather conditions.

Adorable baby groundhogs are too busy to look for their shadow38s

Adorable baby groundhogs are too busy to look for their shadow

These groundhogs are the cutest things ever as they happily munch away on their apples. A litter of three pups is a serious handful, even for a dedicated mother like theirs. Their furry little faces resemble stuffed childrens' toys, especially as they peer closely into the camera. What they don't realize is that in a few days they will have a very important job to do. All of the USA and Canada will be watching to see if they predict an early spring, or six more weeks of winter. It's that age-old, high pressure position of predicting the weather. Every February 2nd the groundhog will emerge from its burrow to peek around at the world outside. If it sees its shadow, it will flee back down into its burrow and have a 6 week snooze that will leave the continent at the mercy of the winter cold for those extra 6 weeks. If the sky is overcast, there will be no shadow and the groundhog will not be startled back into the burrow. We will be blessed with an early spring. Famous groundhogs such as Punxsatawney Phil in Pennsylvania and Wiarton Willie in Ontario, Canada, have been predicting the weather since 1886. This has been a tradition ever since those early days, and the legend and traditions have spread so far and wide that clubs have formed, celebrating February 2nd in crowds as large as 40,000 people. Originating in German speaking settlements of North America, the earliest forecasting animal was actually the badger. The groundhog tradition inspired the 1993 world famous Hollywood movie named Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray. Many cities in the USA and Canada have named their own groundhogs and started their own ceremonies. Despite all of the hype and the festivities surrounding this popular weather predictor, scientists and meteorologists have found no consistent correlation between our weather and the habits of these adorable rodents. Even though few people would truly believe that an lovable furry rodent seeing his shadow is an accurate way to forecast the weather, the fun and festivities that surround this age old folklore make it a big event that is national news every year.

A baby tapir from the Chester Zoo in England comes outside with its mom. He still got all his stripes, which he will lose when he's about 6 month old. He goes to investigate the mud puddle instead of using their nice clean pool. When he gets out of the mud puddle, all the mud is running down his legs, making the ground very slippery for him and the poor baby slips back in the puddle. He doesn't seem to mind and comes back for some more mud treatment. When he had enough he suddenly jumps out of the puddle runs like crazy along the grass and then he has fun chasing off all the magpies in his enclosure. Watch This Man Preciously Cuddles A Foal In His Arms!

Why is nature so beautiful? Why does a short walk amidst nature have such a calming influence on our mind? Why does the sight of flowers, butterflies, rainbows and animals fill our hearts with joy unspeakable? While evolution and science can explain many facts of our daily existence, the answer to this profound puzzle lies a little beyond the reaches of present day science, and in the realms of the super-conscious. Nature is beautiful because it is a manifestation of everything that is fervently pulsating with life on this planet. In the midst of nature, our minds become calm because we feel the pull of this joyful cosmic consciousness. Although many people have been advocating an approach to nature based on its intelligibility, we are far from tying down the giant that is nature with our minds. Emerson writes that the perception of the inexhaustibly of nature is an immortal youth. Although we shall continue to try to uncover nature’s secrets, let us also continue to take pleasure in our immediate encounter with it. Let us continue to be awe-struck, like the child on the seashore, or clambering up a tree. Let us hold onto that experience, and fight for the environment that makes it possible, both for the child in each of us, and for those that come after us. Humans have this funny characteristic of associating certain human qualities with animals in the wilderness. One explanation why we do this is in attempt to make these highly unpredictable wild animals familiar to us. So the lion becomes heroic and brave, the donkey is stubborn, the wolf is a loner, the fox is tricky and the cat is extremely curious. Sure, they exhibit some of these behaviors and traits, but it is more likely than not their natural survival instinct kicking in, rather than any human-like behavior on their part. This means that a cat can be stubborn, a wolf can be curious and a fox can be brave, no matter how we stereotype them. We have long lived with the saying “curiosity killed the cat” but it appears that cats aren't the only ones who enjoy curious enough to chase red laser dots. In fact watch as these playful fish go right into action! Their owner is extremely entertained by their antics as they mindlessly follow the fluorescent red dot appearing in their makeshift habitat. They often hit a dead end or the rocks in their pursuit, but that doesn’t stop them from trying to catch it. However, ever since the beginning, humans have had the need of animals to ether get around, farm work, carry their loads from one place to the next and naturally they have adapted to being close with one another. Specifically in this case even too close. However that cannot be. Once you see the love and bond these two share it is bound to melt your heart. Take a look and be amazed as to how love comes in all shapes and forms. Too Adorable!

Parrot And Owner Share Very Special Bond

Einstein and Jeff have always had a special relationship. The bond that they have involves a great deal of trust. This is important with a parrot, as a parrot will bond for life in the wild. They depend on their flock mate for safety and survival. Einstein will allow Jeff to put him inside and up through his shirt. This would not be possible with a parrot that doesn't trust you. The parrot would bite you very hard and inflict injury! Einstein loves to nibble and preen the very fine hairs on Jeff's face. This behavior is very much like a parrot preening and taking care of his flock mates feathers as parrots often preen each others head feathers.
