Baby seal THANKS his rescuers
A truly special baby seal rescue: instead of biting his rescuers and running away like most other rescued seals, this baby seal was very relaxed and comfortable when Antoine and Naude from the non profit organisation Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) managed to catch and release him.
They spotted him at Pelican Point, close to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, during their usual morning patrol to look for entangled seals. This one was caught in a big ball of commercial fishing line, which was probably thrown overboard a fishing vessel.
Human impact on our wild life is immense. Ghost fishing nets are a huge portion or our ocean rubbish and plastic pollution, sustainability is not regarded as important. This injured baby seal was lucky, he was found soon before it would have taken his life due to starvation or suffocation.
Our animals deserve better.

Cute Baby Seal Won't leave His Rescuers! (Really Sad)
Two more seal rescues at Pelican Point, Namibia, by Antoine and Naude from Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN):
Seal 1 had a thin piece of nylon string wrapped around it's neck. It caused a deep painful cut. The salt water will help with the healing process, the cut looked clean and not infected. We are very sure he will make a full recovery.
Seal 2 was a small male baby seal caught in something similar to cling wrap or shrink wrap. It had not cut into his skin yet, we found him on time before he would get hurt any further. He was caught with our custom build seal catching net, and he seemed to like it a lot, he did not make any attempt at all to get out! Naude and Antoine even helped him to get both his flippers out, and gave him a little push from behind, but he was so chilled, he could not be bothered.
Eventually he decided to join her friends, and he ran back to the colony.
Most of our rescues are very serious and difficult to deal with, we appreciate it when we have a cute and uncomplicated rescue like this one in between.

The "Big Bad Wolf" is scared of cheese
Lakomi can handle being a top predator, but she can't really handle dairy products. Check out 0:07 for the exact moment she discovers her fear of cheese.
Lakomi is an upper mid content wolfdog who lives at the sanctuary. We don't typically feed the wolves food other than meat, however she needed to take some medication and cheese was the only way to entice her. Wolves and wolfdogs are often very wary of humans and new experiences or items in their environment. This fear is called neophobia, and is one of the defining characteristics of wolves. Lakomi's neophobia won out over her trust of me and interest in the cheese during this video, but as you can see she quickly recovered and enjoyed her snack. I've since given up all hope of every playing fetch

Golden Retriever Dad Tells Daughter The Playtime is Over
Although this behavior may seem shocking to those that have not spent time around dog parents and their puppies, this is completely normal. Sassa's Dad was always very loving and playful towards his puppies and would often cuddle with them and teach them how to play. However, puppies are HIGH STRUNG and often don't understand when its time to calm down. Puppies need to learn how to act from their parents in the first critical 8 weeks together. Many times it is the mother that does the most growling and snarling at her pups when they need to learn a certain behavior. Rest assured - Sassa's littermates and herself were very loved by her fur parents :) Enjoy!

Squirrel steals GoPro and carries it up a tree
Squirrel steals GoPro and carries it up a tree
I attached a piece of bread to my GoPro to see if I could draw a squirrel to the GoPro. It ended up picking up the GoPro with the bread and bringing it up a tree. After eating the bread, it discarded the GoPro.

WATCH The Most Friendliest Deer
Deer are known for being calm and gentle animals. Many people even think of Bambi, the young and playful Disney cartoon, when they see a deer out in the wild. Deer are often seen slowly eating plants or leaping through the tall grass, and are recognized by their fluffy white tails and big antlers.

When stroking this fox he is very happy
Lakomi is an upper-mid content wolfdog who lives in a sanctuary. She was found surviving in the wild at 8 months old, however it quickly became apparent that she had been bred and partially raised in captivity. At the time of her rescue she was wearing a harness intended for an 8 week old. Her skin had grown over the harness and removing it took hours of surgery and months of medication to fight an infection that nearly took her life. When I first got to the sanctuary I was told that she was crazy and wouldn't ever be socialized. Her enclosure has fences that are 14 feet high because she would routinely jump or climb up 12 foot fencing and hang by her jaw at the top. Since I began working on socialization with her that behavior has stopped. She took about two months of daily exposure before she would allow physical contact, but once that wall came down she quickly became playful, sweet, loving, and my personal favorite animal in our charge. Lakomi is a gorgeous example of the redemptive power of love, and being able to know her is one of the greatest privileges of my life.
A side note: the fur on her belly is thin because she had been spayed several months prior to this video. She is entirely healthy :)
