This is the 2022 Pickwick Bicycle Club- the oldest bicycle club in the world- Penny-Farthing Race at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit in West London. The video is from Terrence Houlahan's HelmetCam and gives you the view of a rider battling for second place. It also includes the pre-race briefing, awards ceremony stats for full-time and per-lap. The race portion of the video is 38:11 minutes in length.

Racers speed through the streets of the quiet, beautiful Cheshire hamlet Knutsford which like Brigadoon comes alive only once every 10 years with Penny-Farthing racing until another decade passes. The 3 hour course isn't merely a test of endurance but is also technically challenging with a sharp, twisting downhill ending in a 90 degree turn racers negotiate at speed. Terrence Houlahan stitched the video from his helmet and rear-facing cameras to take the viewer with him during the race. (NOTE: Race starts @ 2:09 in video after racer intros) This clip uses video from both my helmet & rear-facing camera to give the viewer a racers POV from on the course. "Sweden 3 Days" is the only Stage Race for Penny-Farthing racing, held annually in Lund Sweden. Over the 3 days, racers compete on different courses of varying length & technical difficulty which test speed, strength & endurance to assess the best overall rider; you can't be just fast or strong to win! There were 51 cyclists this year from around the world competing; I managed just a 19th place overall. This video is of the 2nd heat of 4 qualifiers for the final which was later held in Stadsparken in Lund on the same day.

Returning from London at night on my Penny-Farthing, Google Maps routes me through high crime areas and even down a canal path that divides South Tottenham from Walthamstow; niiiiice ;-) Note to self: never set Google Maps to "bike" again...
