Everyone want to be known, but no one wants to just listen. Saul was known for who we was. He was one who persecuted Christians, but after meeting Ananias he stopped persecuting. Everyone wants to be like Paul, where he did many great things in the Lord. But no one really wants to be like Ananias where he listened to God to bring salvation to someone who everyone knew was killing Christians. The world has made it acceptable to cheat, or lust after someone who is not your partner. If you are with your wife/husband, you do not dress up for someone else, or start thinking about someone else. Who are you going to listen to, the prince or the king? The king has the ultimate power and is the final judge. The prince is more prideful and thinks highly of himself. Who ever you listen to will end up being the louder one. So if you listen to God, you will hear Him instead of the devil.

Honoring your parents, or parental figures is something that needs to still be taught today, both in the church and at home. Honoring them does not mean that you have to agree with them all of the time, or even think that they are perfect. Honoring them is accepting them.

Rest is very important. God set apart time after creation to rest, the israelites observed the sabbath, we too need to have some sacred rest, not just rest. Observe and honor the things that God has done and made. Use the time to get closer to Him and build a greater relationship with Him.

Knowing what is in the Bible for ourselves helps us when we are hearing the word of God and making sure that it is the truth and not false doctrine. But, learning from the Bible also gives us correction or convictions. And it is our duty as Christians to see it as a chance to change and get closer to God and not be bitter from it.
